Tookie apparently is able to show more class on the night of his death |
|
than the Gov. of California, and the President of the United States have in their entire fucking lives.
How sad for us.

4. Just his words in the news articles |
|
here is one quote:
At least publicly, the person apparently least occupied with his fate seemed to be Williams himself.
"Me fearing what I'm facing, what possible good is it going to do for me? How is that going to benefit me?" Williams said in a recent interview. "If it's my time to be executed, what's all the ranting and raving going to do?"

and I couldn't think of another one.
Would you please just answer the question?

12. Actually, that's a very good question. In my heart of hearts, I... |
|
...have no idea who did it. Sure, I guess it looked bad for him, but I wasn't the jury and I didn't see everything they saw. I belive they were a jury of my peers and abide by their decision.

But, in my heart of hearts, based upon observing O.J. after the murders, I believe he's guilty.
But that's another story ...

I'm not claiming that the California justice system is infallible...and I DO believe, based on what I've seen, that O.J. was guilty.
I also believe that Tookie is guilty.

5. His comments that it was sick to enjoy watching someone die.. |
|
when talking about his execution really struck me as classLESS, considering his crimes, and how he joked about those he killed. Too bad he couldn't show that much dignity when he killed those people. I imagine the people he killed would have enjoyed the opportunity to say goodbye to their loved ones and die a gentler death. His legacy is not the books he wrote, but the lives he shattered around the country before he got caught. I'm much more impressed with people who turn their lives around before they are caught.
Everyone has their own opinion of the death penalty, and it's a hot button topic.

Apparently, he never admitted to them and there was an interesting link here earlier posing a connection between a man by the name of Wilkes, Governor Schwarzenegger, Gary Webb and the CIA and Mr. Williams. The War on Drugs consists of pushing cocaine in certain less that wealthy areas to promote and ignite addiction.

32. I Have a Hell Of A Lot More Clue Than You Do. It Shows From The Fact |
|
that I can see all the facts and know he's guilty, as has every court and process that reviewed that case. I think the DP is wrong, and I think it is pathetic that a state will put someone to death shortly. But the man being put to death IS guilty. No doubt about that. I do know. And he should repent for his sins and crimes prior, but that is up to him. I just hope the good lord has mercy on his unrepentant soul.

38. I guess you've never heard of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. He was |
|
an innocent man convicted and jailed on a lot of "facts". Sometimes, things are not what they appear--no matter how CERTAIN we think they are. Facts can be tampered with and may not be credible but are spin to look credible. Or things can be planted. I don't know the whole case so I will withhold judgement. All I'm saying is, things aren't always black and white--even with "facts".

I can't understand how anyone can be in favor of the death penalty...It is a monstrous, barbaric and obsolete custom, that doesn't do anything except make the act of killing in cold blood acceptable to the common folk.
Whatever Stanley Williams did, his death won't fix anything, and won't make anyone come back to life. Killing in return for killing is not justice. It is just more killing. Justice would be to let him work all his life from prison to help young people stay away from gangs. What's so wrong about that? It is certainly more useful than injecting someone with poison, just because they allegedly killed someone themselves. Makes no sense to me.
Arnold will sleep very well, I'm sure, but I won't.
Everytime there is an execution at San Quentin, I feel shame that someone is being killed in my name. Yuck.

The fact that politicians think that supporting the death penalty and refusing clemency is a sign of strength shows a society that believes in revenge, and thinks that killing in return for killing is a good solution.
This kind of society is the kind that might not be able to support any kind of social justice, and might be able to bring to power folks who make catastrophic decisions based on vengeance and hate.
The death penalty is a symptom of a culture that accepts hate and revenge as commonplace...that's not good. It is time to bring humanity back into government...

When the state takes vengeance, it lowers me and you down to that killer's level.
Like another DUer said, the death penalty is about us, not the murderer.
I do not want killing done in my name.
