Why doesn't Bush fly to Baghdad?
Isn't it safe to fly into Baghdad airport? I remember a news story on TV about how the Baghdad Airport was rebuilt and ready for international flights.

I wonder if Bremer (CPA Puppetmeister) flys into Kuwait and then jumps in an armored caravan to Baghdad?

If things are soo great, what could they possibly be afraid of?

3. Maybe this has something to do with it

US troops under fire in Iraq

Two US soldiers have been killed and one injured in an ambush in northern Iraq, the US military has said . . . .
In a separate incident, attackers targeted a US military convoy in Falluja, central Iraq, causing a US vehicle to explode, but no casualties.
Reports say an Iraqi was killed and at least one other injured when US troops opened fire after the attack which came after the lorry had broken down.
Television pictures showed a US military vehicle, believed to be an ammunition lorry, in flames - while a crowd of jubilant Iraqis gathered at the scene.
"Falluja has destroyed the Americans," some men shouted.

Iraqis celebrate the destruction of a US vehicle

Aren't these the people who Rummy said were going to greet our troops as liberators and throw roses in their path all the way from Basra to Baghdad? Ah, yes, he had Chalabi's word for it.

4. For One, He's Not There Yet
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 10:53 PM by Don_G
Remember he left California to the Phillipine Islands, then to Thailand. We can't critize until he totally skips Iraq and Afganistan and then we and quite a few right-wingers will let him have it.

7. Because he is a coward
If he didn't think it was necessary to go to Vietnam, why the hell would he go to Iraq?

9. Why doesn't he take a nice midnight stroll through Tikrit or Manilla?
I mean, according to him, he's saving the world. I'm sure that all he meets would be really happy to see him.

13. Bush Buzzed Baghdad...don't you remember?
The coward flew over the city on his return trip from Africa and the "liberal" media lauded him for no good reason.

19. Bush is the biggest coward in the history of the world
when compared to his level of protection.

Too chicken to serve his time in the air national guard
Too chicken to serve in Vietnam
Too chicken to hold a press conference
Too chicken to admit past substance abuse clearly
Too chicken to drive past protesters
Too chicken to meet with congressmen
Too chicken to meet with 9/11 families
Too chicken to go to any funeral of any American killed in actin in Iraq
Too chicken to go to the White House of WTC on 9/11

This guy is a big old stinking coward

20. Targeting Bush
He won’t go to Baghdad because he knows that if he does 5,000 Army National Guard forcibly extended past their legal contracts by Bush’s stop-loss order would surround the airport armed with shoulder fired rocket-launchers…and not to defend him.

21. He knows he wouldn't look too good...
...with a hole in his head. Seriously, the Secret Service could never protect him effectively over there, and if something happened to him, do we really want Crashcart Dick in charge? Not me. I would rather just wait and get rid of him at election time next year. That way all of his cronies will be gone too. Hey, we've lasted this long with him in office, we are strong enough to last just one more year.

22. I think that...
Edited on Mon Oct-20-03 05:02 AM by imax2268
the reason he won't go is because it wouldn't be a positive PR event for him...he might have to deal with a couple of thousand pissed off troops and millions of even angrier Iraqi's...

I think that there would be major disruptions and protests by many Iraqis who lost family members during the "shock and awe" carpet bombing campaign...

Plus...I think he might just see how bad it really is over there and won't be able to face the truth of what he has done...just my honest opinion...

23. If Bush goes to Baghdad, he'll ride a Halliburton truck!
That would be the safest way! 130,000 soldiers are being paid by you and me to guard Cheney's branch of Brown and Root, while they make money for Dick Dastardly and Pals! I guess they don't like Union Busting Companies and their ilk in Iraq any better than we do in America! Looks like it will be awhile before the liberated people in Iraq dance in the streets to Yankee Doodle, like Bush promised!

Bush can't even catch Saddam's famous "Double"! Dicklamats like Bush don't go anywhere there is a chance there might be a protester in the crowd! Bush can't find a soul in Iraq who will pay $2,000 dollars a plate to listen to a lying liar! You would have thought by the way Bush talked before the invasion of Iraq, that Iraq would be turned back into the Garden of Eden in six months!

Think of what a great campaign photo it would make to have the Shrub dressed in his sock enhanced flightsuit driving a Halliburton D-9 Cat Bulldozer with a ripper blade under Saddam's big crossed swords on Saddam Ave, Baghdad Iraq! Bush would love to have a photo op like that, but he's too skeerd to go there IMHO!

The People of Iraq think Bush is just another used Camel salesman by now, like we do! They know a dictator when they see one in Iraq! Hitler went to Paris ASAP to gloat, so don't count the Chancellor Chimp out yet, 87 billion buys a lot of first amendment fence!
