Doug Feith: what else should I know about him?
OSP?

Why is his name not coming up so much yet?

When it's destined to.

2. Larry Franklin, the spy indicted in the AIPAC scandal
worked for Feith and got the information from that office.

Now, am I to believe that Feith, an American Zionist nutball of the kind that even the Likud Party can't stand, didn't sanction this? Yeah right :eyes:

tenure crossed his desk.

Why did he leave again?

Isn't he involved in the pre-war faked intelligence and in the torture policy?

/clarity. maybe.

More recently, Larry Wilkerson, Colin Powell's chief of staff at the State
Department, said of Feith, "Seldom in my life have I met a dumber man.

5. General Tommy Franks himself called him the "f---ing stupidest"
"guy on the face of the earth..."

And:

"It was Feith who devised the legal solution for getting around the Geneva Conventions' prohibition on physically or psychologically coercing prisoners of war into talking. As a Pentagon official in the 1980s, Feith had laid out the argument that terrorists didn't deserve protection under the Geneva Conventions. Once the war on terrorism started, all he had to do was implement it. And even more damning than his legal rule-making is Feith's reported reaction to complaints by military Judge Advocate General lawyers about the new, looser interrogation rules. "They said he had a dismissive, if not derisive, attitude toward the Geneva Conventions," Scott Horton, a lawyer who was approached by six outraged JAG officers last year, told the Chicago Tribune."

and...

"The other office Feith oversees, the Office of Special Plans, probably wrought even worse damage that the Counter Terrorism Evaluation Unit: Its job was postwar planning, which even many conservatives now admit has been a disaster."

6. Cafferty described him as the
stupidest human being on the planet. He had an AIPAC spy working in his office, Franklin, who is now supposedly cooperating with the investigation. One wonders, since Feith is as dumb as a stump, whether or not some of the policy being made in the Pentagon's OSP was being made by an Israeli spy.

This bunch is just desperately hoping nobody is going to put that stuff together.

9. Maybe this'll help, maybe it won't :)
Here's an article from the May 2005 issue of The New Yorker.

http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/articles/050509fa_fact

He apparently has dark oak floors and shelves in his well-appointed library.

Also:

"When I asked, for instance, if the Administration was too enamored of the idea that Iraqis would greet American troops with flowers, he argued that some Iraqis were still too intimidated by the remnants of Saddam’s Baath Party to express their emotions openly. 'But,' Feith said, 'they had flowers in their minds.'"
