Karen Hughes on MSNBC
When Matt Lauer asked her about stories being planted in the media, she answered with propaganda by saying it was a campaign based on the truth.

Propaganda is based on truth; the truth that you want people to hear with enough distortions added in to sway the discussion in your favor.

Try and catch it on a later feed. It's a good example of cleverly crafted propaganda.

2. Tweety had her on Hardball for what seemed like an eternity last night
Looks like we've reached the "media blitz" stage. Today is supposed to be the last in the series of Junior's Iraq infomercials, so Mama Karen must be bringin' up the rear.

:puke:

12. She was everywhere yesterday. CNN too
When I saw her on Hardball, I switched and found her on CNN. It was obvious that this is more of the multi-scenario strategy they planned to get Bush's numbers back up.

3. She also quoted a fictional poll to claim Iraqi's were happy and hopeful
and Laur surprisingly said something like "Wow there must be too many polls because this one done by the Brookings institutions says (cites the real numbers) the exact opposite."

Then she waffled on until they cut the interview, stammering all the way.

6. And don't we wish they'd get asked questions like that more often...

...a little truth goes a long way towards unwinding the spin.

15. I don't watch the news anymore--to much propoganda
But, I do watch Jon Stewart and Colbert Report. They crack me up. My daughter would kill me if I got rid of the TV!

18. Too many trees for satellite, too far away for cable...
when you choose a wilderness life, there are some sacrifices.

Thankfully we have telephone ;-)

I'd hate to give up the internet.

9. "Based on the truth"
Wouldn't a lie still be "based" on the truth-it is NOT the truth as measured against the truth. That IS being "based" on the truth isn't it?

16. Frau Fumes...Can't Speak Fast Enough
This lady really gets the verbage and the bullshit out and fast. Watching her for a few minutes on Tweety last night, I couldn't help notice how nervous she appeared...and how it manifested itself in fast talking...getting out as many of those talking points as possible...along with a lot of rapid eye movement. She definitely looks like she was planted there to astroturf bigtime...play up the "improving" numbers and try to "say what we mean as opposed to what we actually do". Shameless.

The blitz is on...trying to somehow get back some "popularity"...in what I call the dead cat bounce. This regime will take 45 percent approval ratings and claim it's a mandate for change. They're playing up this "election" in Iraq as some great triumph. To me, that's like saying the 1933 elections in Germany were a success as well.
