Cunningham scandal meet DeLay scandal (wch met Abramoff wch met Coingate)
Edited on Wed Dec-14-05 09:31 AM by jsamuel
The Cunningham scandal, where he gave TAXPAYER money to defense contractors and got some back in bribes, meets the DeLay scandal, where he laundered money from different places and put it into Republican election campaigns. (Which gerrymandered Texas – being brought up by Supreme Court for being illegal – and won 5 more Republican seats in the US Congress)

Notice also that DeLay’s scandal has already met the Abramoff scandal, which has over 60 congressmen being investigated (mostly Republican including DeLay and Ney, with a few Democrats thrown in the mix) for accepting bribes and campaign contributions illegally for favors to “friend companies.”

The Abramoff scandal has also already met the Ohio Coingate scandal, which involves the Gov and Congressman Ney taking money from TAXPAYERS and putting it in a coin fund to launder money into Bush/Cheney’s reelection campaign in Ohio 2004. (Seeing any similarities here?) Also the obvious connection to the vote rigging in Ohio since rigging an election isn’t cheap.

2. Please clarify how Abramoff ties into coingate?
I think Ney is involved in both; is that the connection you refer to? Not sure it's strong enough to get the investigators to merge or connect their investigations, but one can hope.

4. Both involve Ney, but both involve money laundering into reelection
campaigns. There is no overarching investigation from the Abramoff scandal to Coingate because Coingate is a state thing being stalled by the Republican AG in Ohio while Abramoff is being investigated totally separately. The DeLay-Abramoff connection is very similar to the Abramoff-Coingate connection. The only connection that is actually being investigated together now appears to be the Cunningham-DeLay connection.

3. The one thing that I have noticed about all 3
and other operations that it was just a way to launder money for the republicans.

7. Good point.
What has Haliburton been doing with all of the overcharges? Have they funneled money into campaigns?
What about all of that missing money? Same place?

8. Did you catch Bush claiming he doesn't know about Abramoff?
It was in one of his recent vapid interviews. He even mispronounced "Abramoff" to prove his ignorance of the subject - kind of like he does with "nucular".
