3. Ummm...have any examples for this Coloradan? |
|
You can't make a statement like that without backing it up. It's just pigeonholing and broad brushing ithout specifics. :hi:

10. Do a search of the archives of the many threads about Cindy in TX |
|
and the kind things so many DUers said about the locals of Crawford. Don't dwell on the comments voicing legitimate complaints over the behavior of specific Cindy protesters. Focus on the ones which denigrate whole areas of the country as being full of people not worth of consideration.
Look also in the gungeon for comments which disparage whole classes of people based on their geographic characteristics. There have been some dillies in discussions of issues impacting farmers too.
There have been a bunch of us who have been fighting this location-based-bigotry on DU for YEARS. Wish I had a dime for every 'red staters deserve what they get' crass generalizations I have stumbled upon. Don't have time to round up the HUNDREDS of posts showing such prejudice for you. The search feature and TIME are your friends.

4. This thread will stay alive as long as there are rebuttals. |
|
It will be killed as soon as the supportive threads start stacking up.
Do a little research.

5. I think this nation should be split apart at this point |
|
Culturally, these regions of the country are simply so different from coastal, more urban regions. The strength of a nation lies not in the differences between people but in the commonality between the people, but if the differences become too vast, it will pose an ever increasing probability of disaster as time goes on. People will no longer identify with "one nation" as opposed to their own regional loyalties.

6. Nope. I don't think that way! |
|
Born in NY and live in CT. It is disheartenting to see the South go to Republicans election after election but I know that there are Liberal Southerners out there just as there are regressive thinking, racist Northerners. Its just that Northern states for the most part go Democratic. It gives the illusion to many that all Northerners are one way and all Southerners another. But its more complicated than that. We need eachother! And we need to stop fighing and putting eachother down. That is not going to help us.

... that steadfastly refuses to vote for a ticket that doesn't include one of their own and from which the constant prepubescent whining about not paying enough attention to them is heard.
I'm speaking, of course, about the Pacific Northwest. :silly:

Back someone up on something that could be construed as controversial and they go behind you and they delete their friggen posts. Left me hanging out there cut off at the knees. I've never used the ignore feature but I guess its time has come. Looks like it serves a good purpose after all.
