I missed the "War on Christmas Stuff." I must be a Nerd or something's
wrong with me. I know Skinner posted about it and every day there's tons of posts about it...but I did "click on" to see what it was about.

YOU KNOW WHY...Maybe I'm just so cynical these days or I'm not a "cultural maven," but it seemed to me to be some RW Christian Zealot Fundie Crusade which linked to FOX (FAUX) News and I really couldn't get into it. It' sort of was boring. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.....Snooze.

Yet so many DU'ers are Frenzied over it! There are posts after posts about it from beloved DU'ers who seem to be totally thinking they MUST FIGHT THIS BACK! They MUST!

In the end ....is it REALLY ...THAT...Important?

My beliefs are what they are...if some "Media Whore" is trying to re-define Christmas...why the Hell should I care?

Did I miss something along the way here. Do I need to have acid refux over EVERYTHING the Right Wing Repugs use from Rove as a "Talking Point?"

1. Heck, I read a few, but it is one of many
DU topics I can't get worked up about.

2. I ignore the Christmas/holiday threads. I think the whole
issue is pretty silly and don't feel it needs any encouragement. So I agree!

3. I'm just sitting back and watching them get slammed by guys on the right.
This whole thing is such an exercise in stupidity, I think it embarrassed the more secular neocons. But, hey, they still have to "dance with them what brung 'em".

4. As far as I can tell
all of a sudden some fundie sympathizer news freaks decided that the social decorum of wishing people "happy holidays" in recognition of the fact that a large minority of the population doesn't celebrate jesus' birthday for religious or other reasons was somehow a slap in the face of RW extremist religious zealots.

That's what I gather from perusing the threads. They just love being martyrs.

7. It's kind of "gross" that so many Liberals jumped on this Ploy..isn't it?
It's not like many of us aren't "Media Savy" enough to ignore the latest "Faux News Crap."

Heck! I don't ever watch them because they are owned by Bush Fundies......but I know that Millions of Americans are over there.

I just don't care about their viewers...even if it's millions.

So, I must be really weird......but being an "oldie DU'er" I really
don't look to "Fox/Faux" for my news!

Maybe that's the problem....:D

9. Well, we always like to highlight when they are being stupid.
And since this is really a media creature, and those morans are so out front with it, it really an easy shot. Of course, it is of little importance, and it's mainly a diversion, but since there is so much "happy holidaying" going on it's fertile territory.

It's like "Hee Haw," big, but unimportant.
