CIOs: Christmas is no holiday
http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-5995195.html

Christmas day working also depends on whether people will be using the organization's IT systems then. John Hemingway, CIO at Sheffield Hallam University, said: "We are a multi-cultural institution and have a number of students who wish to access our learning environment on Xmas day. We typically average around 500 logins that day."

Article has more. Peoples' responses being far more worthy...

Such as:
it will be a cold day in hell when a CIO actually does the work rather than talk about the work they had someone else do and take credit for.

1. The CIO's at our college -->
-->may not work Christmas but on the whole they have been VERY hands on and always among our best assets. And there are many similar folks around our consortium. Maybe big universities are more like businesses but us smaller institutions don't have the luxury of figureheads.

(Gotta stick up for my peeps.)
