12. Yup
How can any rational person vote "yes" in that pole (yes I know about Freepers and thier problems with rationality). I can't imagine how even fervent Bush* supporters can honestly say that the Regime is doing well in Iraq right now.

6. Voted.....but gosh........
Do you have confidence in the way President Bush is handling the situation in Iraq?
Yes 7% 898 votes
No 93% 12059 votes
Total: 12957 votes

Is he just going to keep asking this same question till he gets the answer he wants to hear? Seems he asks this every darned week!

I can see wolfie in about 20 years.....in a retirement home...asking:

Do you think the (whatever the case is then!) is handling the situation in Iraq well?

18. "Engage the Freepmachine!" -- Big surge in "Yes" votes.
Yes: 1214 (9%) (+316 votes)
No: 12792 (91%) (+165 votes)
Total: 14006

So roughly 2/3 of the newest votes were "Yes" votes.

Looks like the Freepers have engaged their autovoters.

9. This is yesterday's poll question
But Wolf did not release the results due to a breaking story - Farmer's Market Car Crash.

Makes me wonder if this question will disappear later without the results being given.

22. Bwahahahah!!! LMFAO.....
Apparently, to the freepers, Blitzer is a 'leftist'.....
Could these people be any further disconnected from reality?

FReeped. YES is still stuck at 8%.
Personally, I live for the day when the poll question is "Is Wolf Blitzer a leftmedia shill?"

19. But don't get too overly optimistic....
Isn't there something like a 3% margin of error with these kinds of polls...?

20. Heh....
more like a 60-70% margin of error.

:)

This isn't a scientific poll. No applicable margin of error.

21. To be more precise, there is NO reliability in a poll like this.
As someone with a statistical background, I will state the obvious about polls like this one . . . the sample result is not representative of the population being sampled. Therefore, no reliance can be placed on the sample results.

I just don't get why people have these ridiculous samples or polls. Usually one side or the other "stuffs the box" with votes. What a waste of everyone's time.

23. Yeah, but don't you think 10 consecutive polls like this...
means SOMETHING? I mean, 1 or 2 I could understand, but not 10 in a row. The tide has turned. Plus, I typically think that internet polls are skewed towards the right because pubs are less likely to be employed and more likely to be at home voting in internet polls.

25. Unless the Sample is Truly Random
and Truly significant (I can't recall the statistical definition of significant) all you have here is an aggregation of the opinions of those people who have taken Wolf's Poll. That is all you can say about it. 91% of the people who took Blitzer's poll said Bush is doing a horrific job.

You unfortunately can't draw a larger conclusion from it. You can however backtrack through the Free Republic to determing when and where they stopped Freeping Blitzer's polls. I recall many such polls that were almost 50-50. Add in the fact that the Free Republic has been losing traffic - I think we are seeing a general malaise come over the right wingers. They aren't suddenly going to vote Democratic, but they aren't shouting at the top of their lungs about how great Bush is anymore. They realize that saying the ship isn't sinking loudly doesn't actually prevent the ship from sinking.
