Morning Sedition Show Finale on Air now

Catch it if you can. It should be archived on AAR later tonight. I think Radio History was made with this show. It was brilliant. I will miss it.

1. We had Nancy Skinner on in that time slot on our Progressive station.
AM1310 plays a nice mix of AAR and local. Nancy is leaving and we're all sick about it. She was awesome. :hi:

2. These guys and others like your Nancy Skinner are like our
chatty next door neighbors. I said to my husband many years ago that these radio personalities are like the neighbors on the front porch that we used to (as a nation --before TV et al) always see and talk too. Our cars are frequently our front porches now as we drive to and from work and listen to our neighbors chat to us.

When they leave the air it it truly like losing a beloved neighbor.

I will truly miss this show. And, I know how you feel about losing yours.

18. I know Nancy from Chicago, you're right...she is brilliant.
The local RW echochamber canned her and all liberal shows on Chicago's ABC radio affiliate. Then Nancy tried to run for Senate. Anyway, I still miss her so I know that you will.

24. I miss Nancy Skinner as well. I heard no announcements. You?
Happened just as another, and last, so far, anti-Fieger salvo hit, and she was the only source of refutation.

Her bio shows she left Chicago AFTER announcing she'd run for Senate. Ought not be a pundit while campaigning. Too bad for her: against Obama. He won, not her. Wondered if something ... extraordinary happened.

I'm hoping she'll return. DU keeps me abreast of federal info, and my local knowledge is little and now waning.

My best to your decidedly UN-grumpy family.

5. Air America Mornings
Mark Riley on from 500 AM to 700 AM and Rachel Maddow in the next two hours.

Marc Maron is in negotiations for some sort of show for AAR that he will probably do from Los Angeles and probably not on but once a week or so.

17. You said it, Hootie
MS was one of a kind--some of the most topical, humane and brilliant humor ever to go out over the airwaves. I purposely cancelled an appointment to be able to stream the last show live. Had tears in my eyes as Marc said his final 'thank yous' to everybody. May he land on his feet and go on delighting us in some other incarnation. SG

15. Like when they demolished the original Penn Station in NYC
now we can just look back at the pictures and marvel at how magnificent it was and shake our heads at what a boneheaded move it was to destroy it.

27. ughh.
If they cancel Malloy, I'll be 100% done with AAR.

Marc Maron and Malloy are my two favorites on the station. If they ditch Malloy, I'll ditch them in a heartbeat.

Rachel Maddow nearly bores me back to sleep.

16. I am so absofuckinglutely bummed.
I'm very sad. It was the best show on AAR. The information was solid, smartly paced and dished out with that tasty comedy sugar that gets you going in the morning. If Goldberg doesn't care about what his listeners want, then fuck his station, and fuck him.

I was a frequent caller to the show and became friends off air with Marc. Fuck AAR. Fuck Goldberg. I've invited Marc and Misha to visit Sicily in the Spring. His mother wants to come too!

19. I'd like to remind some of you...
that AAR is still the best thing going. Realize that Air America takes the collective voice of liberals and free thinkers to a national level. I am saddened by the departure of Morning Sedition and Marc Maron. I was sad to see Katherine Lanpher leave as well. It's worth mentioning that I really can't stand Springer.

Continue to voice your disappointment in an attempt to offer direction and guidance to AAR. Let them know your likes and dislikes, but don't tune out. Timothy Leary had it wrong. Tune in, turn on, and TAKE OVER. Yeah, that's much better.

Peace

Much as I will miss Morning Sedition and am lukewarm to Mr. Springer's show, I will continue to listen to and support AAR.

22. I think the repubs would be glad to hear that some will turn off AAR.
Personally, having to listen to right wing nonsense like limpballs, shammity, and local yocal idiots for 20 years, I am glad to have a choice. I listen to AAR on XM and by streaming and I have some issues with XM, but in general, I live on the nourishment of common sense and truth that AAR (among other left leaning shows that I stream) provides.

I understand the disappointment in the replacement of Marc Maron - he is one of my favorites. But I would shrivel without AAR in my car. I will not tune out. I will, however, lobby AAR admin to restore Maron to us, maybe in his own show.

We will miss you desperately.
