Poll question: Horrors! I was wished "happy holidays"!!!! |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 12:48 PM by Hobarticus
This morning, as the window repairman was leaving, he started to wish me "merry Christmas", but he stopped himself and wished me "happy holidays". How should I feel?

1. Hey, how do I get that little Registered Trademark symbol, |
|
the R inside a circle? I must have it for references to "Buddy Jesus" (you may recall him from the movie Dogma).

But for sure, don't pay him for the work. Bill O'Reilly would want it that way.

(ie, there's still room to be offended by "happy holidays" - if you're a pagan or atheist!)
How about "Happy Decorative Conifer Day" or "Happy Automotive Sales Event Day" ?

"Wymyn of a certain age" are often made pretty sick by alcohol, I used to be a cocktail waittress and drank all of the time ( a long time ago) but I can't get away with more than just a couple glasses of wine anymore, so we are left to use either PC drugs from doctors, like a certain First Lady I can think of, Or nothing . . . . Maybe that's what's the matter with my "Reason for the Season" detector.

Why is everyone getting their panties knotted up over weather store clerks say merry Christmas 3 million times a day. Doesn't anybody remember the good ole days when store clerks only wished regular customers a merry xmas? I know back in the 70's everyone was bitching that wishing merry Christmas meant nothing because the store clerks were just mouthing the words and they lost all meanings. Does it matter if a sales clerk says anything to you outside of telling you how much your going to pay for your items? I really don't give a rats ass if they even say thank you, after all anything a clerk says to you becomes the same as asking you if you want paper or plastic bags. Damn it.
