8. Frist is still a scumbag ...
He changed his vote once he realized it would fail. This gives him the option to call another vote on the topic. That is the reason he voted NAY, not because he has somehow seen the light.

Now this peice of shit will try to get a few Repukes to flip, and he can call another vote, and push this facist policy through.

Cheers
Drifter

14. I thought that was Interesting about Frist as well.
Then I remembered he is up for reelection. He's only pandering for votes.

3. slow learners - all except one....
"I don't want to hear again from the attorney general or anyone on this floor that this government has shown it can be trusted to use the power we give it with restraint and care," said Feingold, the only senator to vote against the Patriot Act in 2001.

great comment! :woohoo:

10. It's just the House version
I don't want anybody having a coronary when another version is finally passed, and it will be. They rejected the House version, not the premise of the need for most of the provisions in the Patriot Act. Even Feingold has said he supports 90% of the Patriot Act, it's the lack of privacy and due process that has been objected to. The Senate version fixed those, so when the House and Senate can get a bill together, it will be passed. And not everybody will like it either.

18. I agree
I'm glad that piece of junk from the House didn't pass. I'm just saying, when this comes back up again, it will most likely be fixed and passed with full Senate support. So when that happens alot of people will need to recognize that there have been law enforcement issues that needed addressing all along, or recognize that they're just kneejerks against anything that comes out of Congress.
