Democrats need Republicans desperately. To rid ourselves of the CANCER which is demolishing our nation these days via the illegal and immoral crimes being committed in the name of KING GEORGE and his royal minions in the House and Senate -- and, now, the NSA too. Corruption THRIVES in DC right now. Democracy is being slowly killed too. We can hardly recognize our America of 6 years ago. If not stopped, this will continue and we will soon become a monarchy / dictatorship as people like us stay unable to say "NO" to slimy characters like GWB+Co.
Spying illegally on his own citizens. Accepting favors, we're talking REAL favors, from the Abramoffs, Pharma, Big Oil, and the GOP "charities" directed towards themselves instead of the truly needy. Sending babies, yours and mine too, to certain death in suicide missions in humvees unequipped for Iraq.
This is Iraq - revenge. There's no war there. Kill 2200 US youngsters and 1000s)(!) of Iraqis to avenge Saddam's death threat to Daddy. As if.
Yet, Reeps have been out of power for 40+ years. With the Bushies in the WH, they'll try to keep power even if it means slavishly toeing the party line no matter what.
BUT WAIT, they're getting screwed too, like us all. Their kids are dying, they're gouged at the pump, they're losing white collar jobs. Sticking up for the King isn't a picnic after all.
Main point -- if we start reaching out to freeps, being gentler and less hostile, using reason and congenial camaraderie rather than the ridicule I know I've been guilty of, we MAY change a few minds. Even if we won't gain ALL GOPers as allies, we'll get a few here and there. And Reeps have Reep friends. There's MUCH dissatisfaction out there among Republicans too don't forget. Approach in the right way and we can create a groundswell to achieve for America what the media will not -- ultimately, the removal from office of the Bushies for good.
We can't take 3 more years of the same. WE must have help from thinking GOPers, hard as it is to imagine, to save ourselves and our kids from a bleak future in the USA.
