2. extremely, the only thing that can save us now are heroes in the
judiciary or congressional branch, outraged enough to fight the dictator, and in enough numbers to make a difference.

I have hopes for Fitzgerald, and Conyers and Murtha, and Boxer, et al.

but honestly, if they feel themselves above the law, they can't be fought by the law. That is the flaw in the checks and balances: it depends on honor from the three branches to recognize the authority of the other two. Without that, we have what we have now.

4. So basically this attack was fought on two fronts
The first was militarily and went after feelings of patriotism.
The second was on the homefront by stealthly attacking bankruptcy, credit card payments, gas prices, heating prices, etc.
The citizenry will be too burdened down with debts to be able to fight back.
The next logical step will be again to put debtors prisons back into vogue.
That way, not only will people be too burdened, they will be too frightened.
Now...I am very curious why the satellite would drop MSNBC and replace it with Faux??
THAT is very disturbing.
Not that MSNBC is MUCH better, but it does have some good things and isn't "all propaganda all the time".
What to do...what to do??

3. In my opinion, we are fucked near totally.
We are too frightened of losing the "comforts" we have left to actually take up arms against the fascists. The US government is vicious, immoral, callous, and brutal - we have reason to be afraid. The vast majority of US citizens are so cowed, frightened, and ignorant, that any attempt at stirring them for their freedoms would be pointless. When the hired mercenaries arrive in town in their armored Hummers and battle tanks, everyone will toe the line. We can't vote these fucks out, because the elections are rigged and the selection process is fixed to produce clones of the politicians we have now. So, yeah, "totally fucked" sounds about right...
