Bush's crimes make me want a parliamentary system more and more. |
|
I'm sick of the Imperial Persidency. A parlimentary system would keep the executive on Congress's leash, unlike the independent, quasi-monarchial position the Presidency is today.

4. Great Britain has a parlimentary system and Blair is still Prime Minister |
|
It's not the system that is totally wrong, but the leaders who are corrupt, spineless, or outnumbered. And it is also us citizens, many of whom don't pay attention to politics and abdicate their responsibilities.

You know, like actually stand up and respond to questions from the loyal opposition.
It has a wonderful "accountability" effect.

I don't know the politics of East Westertonville, so some of the wit goes over my head, but yelling and screaming in British accents is always good television.
Awda! Awda! Will my right, honourable friend...

since his party is in control and will never vote no confidence in this sack of shit as long as he keeps dangling more tax cuts in front of them.

Neither party would do it, end of story. We're lucky we have 2 parties, even if in name only.
