Response to Sen. Cornyn
From another post here at DU, Sen Cornyn (TX) is quoted as saying "Civil liberties don’t matter much ‘after you’re dead’"

My response to him:
What about the thousands upon thousands of American Soldiers who have died protecting these civil liberties throughout our history? Do you think these civil liberties matter to them? The denigration of their sacrifice by a U.S. Senator should be considered TREASON! You sir are NOT an American if you believe what you say. I don't care if you blindly support the Criminals in the Bush Administration, but you are attacking AMERICA with words like these. You are undermining your own position as well. Why do we need lawmakers when we have a KING who will DO AS HE WISHES? You are you probably being promised a position on the King's Court to be throwing the U.S. Constitution and our Democracy out the window. If I were a Texan, I would be ashamed to have you as my senator and I would be finding ANY WAY POSSIBLE to have you RECALLED and then PROMPTLY THROWN IN JAIL. If you don't like living in a country with CIVIL LIBERTIES, I suggest you move somewhere else.

1. I am a non-native Texan and I am ashamed of him and Granger
They both have the best interests of corporations in mind.

It's a special kind of hell to live in the most conservative county in the state. They sell and drink the Koolaid® by the tanker truck here. Plenty of SUVs and Hummers with the ubiquitous "W" sticker applied to the rear window, typically above the Xian fish symbol.

I've written dozens of letters to Senator I never met a defense contractor I didn't love Kay Granger. I might as well send them off to the former USSR for what it's worth.

Cornyn's name can be scrambled to spell n-crony. There are about "n" number of cronies in this state.

3. Ah, Corndog.
Good old "Man on Box Turtle" Cornyn.

When I told Liza they were starting to talk about Cornyn as a potential Supreme Court pick, she said, "Oh no! He's not smart enough to be a Supreme Court judge!"

Guess she was right.

Fuckin' yeesh,

The Plaid Adder

4. all those who have died in the name of our once great country
are right now rolling. What was once a great nation is now a squalid, though rich, corporate mafia which has only one thing, profits, on it's mind. Greed has brought the US to it's knees. Jesus was right, the love of money is the root of all evil.

civil liberties do matter. But greed overwhelms the liberties with stricture.
