4. Just want you to know.....
That those of us pressed for time and scratching together a few minutes to play catch up at DU, really appreciate your monitoring of the Senate and Congress.

5. 12,000 + companies at one address in the Cayman islands
$60 Billion dollar tax break.

the "Jobs Act" actually cost jobs, gave large tax breaks to largest US companies who "repatriate" their profits at 5.25% tax rate.

Sen Byron Dorgan, D-North Dakota

10. Sen Tom Coburn, MD speaking about Medicare/Medicaid fraud
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 02:44 PM by SharonAnn
but didn't seem to notice that much of it was done by DOCTORS! What is his profession going to do about this?

He talked about all these doctors and organizations (Schering-Plough, etc.) who have paid fines for defrauding Medicare and Medicaid. Why didn't he mention Dr. Frist's family business, HCA, which was fined more than $1.2 BILLION for defrauding Medicare and Medicaid? That was when Frist's brother was president of HCA and his father was chairman of the board.

Why didn't he mention the Frist's fraud?

11. When they stop the $300 toilet seats and the $900 hammers they can
talk about fiscal disipline. Geesh! How much money has Haliburton lost in Iraq? Find that money and put it back in the general funds and leave school lunches and seniors alone!
