"So there's a backlash pending, I think the backlash is going to be against those who are suggesting somehow we shouldn't take these steps in order to defend the country," he said, speaking on a plane to Oman from Pakistan.

So don't shut it down. I'm pleased that the Legislative branch has discovered the tradition of statesmanship in the Congress of late. Well, at least members of one party...

There is a Constitutional question, very close to crisis state at the heart of what is going on. The issue is government of, by and for the people, and that it not perish from this earth (with apologies and a bow to Mr. Lincoln). Congress are our representatives in government, i.e. they implement "by, of, for". This President and his lackeys have consistently attempted to arrogate to themselves in the Executive branch, far more power than our nation's structure accords them. Congress is the instrument by which we can remind our wannabe patricians and little princes that they're our fucking employees, we OWN their asses (along with paying their salaries), and they are answerable to We the People.
