Sentinel Friday Forum - need a little help with my LTTE
The Orlando Sentinel has the following topic for its Friday Forum:
Friday Forum asks readers: Do you feel like your privacy or liberty is threatened by the Patriot Act? What changes, if any, should Congress make, or should the law be allowed to expire? Tell us what you think.

My response - need comments and a better title.

Liberty or death
The Founding Fathers established this nation on the concept of civil liberties. Ben Franklin pointed out that one cannot trade liberties for security, because in the end he will have neither. This is precisely what the Patriot Act does - it undermines the very liberties that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson fought so hard to achieve. I for one do not wish to give the government even more power over my life. Supposedly terrorists hate this country because of our freedoms. Sacrificing more liberty does nothing but bring us closer to what the terrorists want.

1. I wouldn't change a single word ...
... and the title couldn't be more appropriate!

Well done!

2. Thanks
I'm debating on whether to add an intro reference to Patrick Henry to tie into the title...

3. Not necessary ... it's PERFECT as is!

The reference is self-explanatory -- and 'Liberty or Death' has become one of those phrases that has transcended time, place or person (and it actually used to MEAN something in this country!).

Really, I think you've done a really good job here -- stop second-guessing yourself!

Just wanted to add (on edit) that the final line, "Sacrificing more liberty does nothing but bring us closer to what the terrorists want," is brilliant!!!!!
