Tell me one or two good things Hillary has done for this country
Seriously. I'm open minded and I'm pretty much sitting on the fence where she is concerned. I would love to see a Democratic woman become president, but our country is sitting on the brink of destruction and we need someone strong and competent in the WH.

Convince me Hill is the woman for my vote.

1. She, uh...forgave her husband for the bj?
She did that, right? I mean, she fucked up the health care thing, but she was a great role model for the spouses of cheating husbands everywhere...stand by your man. And on his shoulders.

10. I think it shows more character to keep the marriage together
Especially good selling point against all the serial monogamists she'll being running against.

9. Imagine if Rudi Guiliani was Senator from New York?
Imagine Zell Miller winning the presidency in 1996 because Bush Sr won in 1992. Hillary will be at the right place at the right minute with the right resources once again for us in 2008.

3. She made Chelsea and she is going to do great things for
all of us one day. Mark my words on that one. On a side note, she was just as instrumental in getting Bill (the greatest President of my time) elected. If you have never read his book, he gives her an enormous amount of credit for his career.

8. She fights long and hard for the people ,
she represents in New York. We are still having a health care debate because she made it high profile.

12. Agreed. Unlike a lot of folks around here, I think she would be a
great Pres, and I really believe Chelsea will be too. I used to think that Chelsea would be the first female Pres, but it may happen before then.

13. Bill was great if you don't take in to account
the crappy things he did...you know welfare reform, logging without laws, I'm sure someone could fill in a couple more things that kept him from being great.

15. Nobody's perfect.
There have been several great presidents who did some crappy things. Even Kennedy.

6. I think juniperx is looking for something SUBSTANTIAL here
she is ok with me despite the fact that she is soliciting nation wide money for
her presidential run by masquerading it as senate re election money. After all her
going back to the senate looks pretty secure, so why drum up cash in California/

but what has she done of significance?

Inquiring minds want to know.

The freeps seem more thrilled at the prospect of a Hillary run than most of us here at DU.

17. She has done some good things, but I still don't support her for
president.

It was admirable that she tried to fix health care before it went belly up. Lately, though, she has pretty much lost me by spending time on stupid things like flag-burning and sex in video games that were already rated mature. Geez. You'd think with this country going to hell in a hand basket she would spend her time on things that actually matter.

20. She has no executive experience and is a one term Senator
I agree with you 2008 isn't her time yet, and some of the stuff she has done is superficial. I like Hillary as Sen. Clinton from NY but not the nominee for 2008 presidential election.

....Dunno if that did any good for the country, but it's more than Alan Keyes could get away with.

19. What did the Romans ever do for us???!!!
Sorry, the question got me thinking about ....
=====

"And what have they ever given us in return?!"

XERXES:
The aqueduct?

REG:
What?

XERXES:
The aqueduct.

REG:
Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah.

COMMANDO #3:
And the sanitation.

LORETTA:
Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like?

REG:
Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done.

MATTHIAS:
And the roads.

REG:
Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads--

COMMANDO:
Irrigation.

XERXES:
Medicine.

COMMANDOS:
Huh? Heh? Huh...

COMMANDO #2:
Education.

COMMANDOS:
Ohh...

REG:
Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough.

COMMANDO #1:
And the wine.

COMMANDOS:
Oh, yes. Yeah...

FRANCIS:
Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.

COMMANDO:
Public baths.

LORETTA:
And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg.

FRANCIS:
Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this.

COMMANDOS:
Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.

REG:
All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

XERXES:
Brought peace.

REG:
Oh. Peace? Shut up!
