I bet DU has been monitored at least a few times if not continually.

They read Yahoo Groups postings for god sakes! They are here.
They read PETA emails!

My wife had an ongoing email exchange with Ingrid Newkirk this summer that continued for about two weeks. I just asked my wife how it felt to have her emails not only intercepted by the FBI/NSA but personally read hy an FBI agent. At first I was kind of joking but now am definitely not so sure at all. Not only that, but she has in the past couple months started an animal rights group locally so I am sure any communication between her and the "mother ship" is being noted.

Now I am getting all alpha male and protective. Hell, I wear the idea of me having an FBI file and being under surveillance as a badge of honor (and believe you me I have one (all for completely legal and peaceful activities).... but you don't fuck with my wife. You leave her alone. All she wants to do is help the animals. But I guess she just joined the club of "subversives."

If being active in things like protecting bunnies makes ones lady a "threat", one are not dealing with honorable types.

What is up with intelligence gathering and PETA anyway? Its not just this, but the whole fiasco with the CIA head and Barnum and Baily and PETA too.

If brush couldn't secretly, and illegally spy on people who want to save bunnies, he couldn't spy on terrorists. See because the NYT told this stories now the terrorists know brush is a criminal too. It just ruined everything.
