Faux "News" musings
I have no idea why most of my fellow nurses in Austin are so damn conservative and religious, but they are. And they love to watch Faux "News" for some unfathomable reason. So, for the last two nights, when I went into the break room, Faux was on. The first night I heard something so funny I completely missed the tone it was delivered in. Not so tonight. But let me tell you the hilarious snippet I heard the first night. It was O'Lielly and he was saying that a study (I can't remember where he said the study was done and frankly I assume if O'Leilly's mouth is moving, he is lying) showed that the media has a left leaning bias and that Faux "News" had the most centrist point of view of all the media. I laughed until my stomach hurt. But tonight I noticed the tone with which they deliver their "news". Wow. They all delivered it with such self righteous arrogance. It was almost as though I was being lectured. Simultaneously, it had an air of indignant victimhood.

I felt as though I was seeing the seething, evil underbelly of the American psyche.

1. Horrible ain't they... I just got a copy of OutFoxed
and I had to watch it in 3 sittings because even though they were exposing Faux for what they are I can't watch FN for more that a few minutes at a time before it makes me want to :puke:

2. media bias is not liberal
It's so rightwing it's painful to watch. It's repetitive propaganda, ad nauseum.

The source that claims liberal bias for the media is so questionable I'd wonder
if it weren't a rightwing rag or reporter.

Just like that Washington Times-ABC poll proclaiming Bush's improvement in
the polls. Completely biased and untrustworthy... especially when just about
all the other polls don't show it.

5. Well, yeah
That's why I busted a gut. It was so ludicrous.

3. I just notice that they say little or nothing about . . .
the illegal activities of the B*sh regime; they seem to prefer the plane that went down in Miami, and various crimes (usually involving illegal immigrants). I want to see what they could possibly say about the latest revelations. I'm sure it is the "blame the media" game that B and C have been pushing.

4. They talked about it last night
Mind you, they talked about it by saying that the American people should be grateful that Bush is willing to go to such lengths to "protect" the American people.

Fucking Fascists.

6. Yeah, the media is so liberal
that the "Flaming Liberal Flagship" New York Times sat on several news stories which would have blown Bush out of the race in 2004 . . .
