Would the ACLU even care if freeps send them cards? |
|
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1544693/postsI don't get it, what are they trying to accomplish? The ACLU is not against Christmas. At all.

They think they are doing something naughty when really no one cares. They are just distracting themselves from what is really wrong with this government and country.

2. Everyone that I know, in the ACLU, would be pleased |
|
to get cards from anyone, as long as they are in respectably good taste. Those good folks seem to be driven by an almost holy light, continuimg to persrevere, long after the flag-wavers and potent patriots have given up in disgust or gone over to the dark side. The nation, the world will forever in their debt...

4. But Bill O'Reilly told them the ACLU was fighting the war on |
|
Christmas. So it must be true! You know, it takes a freeper to think that sending someone a Christmas card is some form of protest. :eyes:

True.
Don't worry. They're mistaken, so it's good that they feel confident. The ID movement keeps rolling on. It's come a long way since the early '90s. Just make sure they spell the name right, and make sure the ACLU is associated in the public mind with opposition to ID.

17. Okay, so let me see if I understand... |
|
They are spending money to buy cards and buy stamps to teach the ACLU a lesson? Is that correct?

To: Quilla Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they would not know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 37 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a HOLIDAY tree...It's a CHRISTMAS tree - even in the fields!! ----- I mailed TEN CHRISTMAS CARDS to these maggots today. It will be like a vampire opening a box and finding a silver crucifix in it !!!!! HA!!

9. i stay away from the FR links posted here on DU |
|
i went there one time last year when someone here had posted links to something there, but found the site layout, navigation, and threading so counter-intuitional (?) that i figured it's probably not worth reading the shitty ass garbage they post there.
anyway, i went back in there today (i don't get their confusing interface) and i guess that place is a knuckle dragger heaven.

I mean, the ones where the handwriting is legible probably are addressed wrong . . . and they probably can't spell ACLU . . .

To: EagleUSA
Vampires would immediately sell your crucifix for scrap silver and pocket the money. The "HA!" will be on you, and already is. You spent on the cards and envelopes maybe $6-8 + your time. To open 10 envelopes, to see that there are no checks in them and to toss the garbage out will take 3-5 minutes of low-paid worker's time. So you would be wasting their $1 at the cost of your $6-8. So whom is the "HA!" on?

13. To all the Freeps sending cards to the ACLU... |
|
I think it would be fitting, in the true spirit of the season, for the ACLU to bestow honorary memberships in the American Civil Liberities Union to the card senders, with a public thanks for their support and notice of memberships granted posted to the official ACLU website.
Ho ho ho!!

15. Would be cool, if, under a court order |
|
the ACLU had to turn over its "membership" list and they turned in the list of all the freepturds who pulled this stunt!
I wonder if the freepturds would be screaming for the ACLU to defend them against the "illegal search and seizures" then!
Just ask Rush, Alex Arshinkoff, and the KKK . . .

they do themselves a disservice. They dishonor Christmas and they bring shame upon their own actions.
