How does the US government work? |
|
I want to learn more about how the House, Senate and the Executive branches work. There is so much stuff they do that I don't understand, and I want to know more.
Can anyone post a link or suggest a resource where I can learn more about how our Government works?
Thanks.

4. Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia, etc... |
|
That's a pretty loaded question. I doubt you will get much more than humor type responses here and even regardless I wouldn't even know where to start.
Just go to a search engine and start typin questions away :)

my 12 year old nephew would know the answer to that question.
be wary of online resources for finding GOOD information. books are our friends.

10. What grade are you in? |
|
My public education included a couple of years of "Government." And "Political Science" was required in college.

Listen, I know what a fucking book is. I know what a library is. I asked a simple question. You fucking geniuses understand everything you see and hear on CSPAN? Good for you. I don't. And I want to. Because knowledge is power, and I want to know.
Moderator. Go ahead and ban me now. I don't give a shit. These guys are a bunch of rude jerkoffs.

you come as a stranger into someone else's house and ask stupid questions (which btw, they teach MOST children about government in 6th grade, i.e. unless they are homeschooled) and then have the audacity to get all pissy about it.
dude, anyway, i'm sorry if i offended you, but we geniuses at DU don't often get such a set up as your OP.
sorry for the fun at your expense, but i can assure you, nobody meant anything personal.
online forums require extensive reading before you start posting, that's how you get the feel of a place. you might even be able to determine they types of questions to ask of the group or the WAY you should ask them.
anyway, i'm sorry for my part in this, and please don't go.

"The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked." It says so in my training room here at work.

19. the only stupid question is a stupid question |
|
people made that phrase up after the elitists realized that there were more stupid people than smart people and they didn't want the stupid people to have such poor self-esteem.
training room? do they have any of those cheesy corporate training videos? i love those almost as much as i love infomercials.

21. "Stupid" is a subjective term |
|
There are no published qualitative or quantitative standards for criteria for "stupid" that I found. The application of such a term is a personal choice and based on one's own personal or cultural perspective. It has nothing to do with facts.
No cheesy corporate videos to sleep through. Real work only.
