What's the Chimperor on live right now for?
Something about a Gulf something-or-other Act of 2005?

MSNBC.

1. "The Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005?"
Opportunity Zone?

Uh-oh.

I sense another "marketing" scam by the White House.

7. All the bush, all the time. It is an offensive offensive
in an effort to make him look more accessible, more human, less regal.
Hey, it worked for Adolf.

He has been on live TV every day, and in increasing numbers of slots per day.

I suspect people will tire of him quickly and see that his failures remain present.

14. He's stalking us, someone oughta pass a law.
Just as awful as having to look at O'Reilly's face on the *Latest* page, just another assault on the senses.

8. He's talking about LA and MS
He's touting his plan to help people in Louisiana and Mississippi.
It's in the bill he's about to sign.

Education
High School training for jobs needed there
Scholarships
Better levees
A revitalized Gulf Coast

Now he's signing the bill.

It's not all bad, but...

I could just feel the racism and classism dripping from the speech.

Those poor people will be trained for the shitjobs that are out there
waiting for them, while the rich take over and develop the area.

18. Why in hell would he think all these speeches would help him, when he
sounds like a fucking drunk (or someone who's had a stroke)?

I heard about 30 seconds of his last press conference on the radio before I could get to it and turn it off, and it took me about a minute to figure out that the slurred mush he was saying was the word "strategy."

20. More "supply side" nostrums.
Rather than offer direct assistance to the HUMAN BEINGS harmed by Katrina, the corporatists again grant entitlements and "incentives" to corporations and businesses ... in the mythical 'belief' that they'll somehow magically make things better for the bereft and impoverished.

Any excuse to grant even more entitlements to the already-privileged.

It's the continuing scam of right-wing government. Foreign aid, for example, is predominantly taxpayer money funneled to private companies and organizations to "deliver" reports and advice ... or it's products like grenade launchers to fighter aircraft. Such money is profiteered at every level - contract, subcontract, subsubcontract, and so on.
