this bullshit war on xmas could actually come to bloodshed
that's how religious fanaticism works. someone will start blowing up nativity scenes and other xmas displays and zealots will bomb anything remotely secular and blood will be shed in the holy name of the prince of peace, yet again.

2. You have a knack for writing
subject lines, Mopaul. Almost everyone that caught my eye this morning was yours! I guess I like doom and gloom. It wouldn't be bad thing if someone took care of those blow up lawn figures and snow globes. Someone in my neighborhood has some many in his front yard that you can't see his house.

3. A mosque in Cincinnatti was bombed the other day
along with a building that was part of the mosque complex. Cops still don't know who did it, but think it is probably a hate crime. I can't help but think that the "war" on Christmas might have been a factor.

4. Ooo, I hope they don't try to mess with our Holiday Display...
It took us 2 whole weekends to get our house to its current state of Griswoldness. It's a sight (hate to see my electric bill next month) -- if that baptist loon thinks holiday decorations are a sign of idolatry, he needs to come see us -- we have the biggest, goldenest, calfiest calf on the block.

5. There were "news reports" earlier this week about
"evil people" stealing the expensive inflatible Christmas decorations . . . I'm almost certain that it was a bunch of fundie kids who wanted to frame lefties as the grinches . . .

7. I don't doubt it
I wrote a LTTE about this so-called War on Christmas to my local rag. One of my girlfriends customers read it and asked her if I was trying to get my ass kicked. She replied that that would be real "Christian" of people to want to kick my ass for speaking out. Fucking hypocrites, every last one of them........

8. Something happened to me
I had my hair cut two days ago and as I was following my stylist to the front of the salon, another stylist called out to me, "Merry Christmas!" I thanked her and said, You, too. Then I heard her say to her client, very smugly, We say Merry Chrismas here, NOT Happy Holidays, and her client said, Well, that's great, good for you.

It was weird. Here I thought I was being wished a merry Christmas but came away feeling like I'd been had by an agent of the Falafel Pervert. Btw, this was a Fantastic Sams.
