Your audience.

I just thought folks might benefit from a little perspective on what making a post in a public forum means. Rarely when you make any post at all here at DU, do you get less than 100 views. If you make the greatest page, you'll easily reach 1000. (There are a lot more lurkers on the Internet than many of us realize.)

This is what an audience of 1000 looks like:



This isn't to give anyone stage fright, or to discourage short jokes or quips or any of the daily horsing around that makes DU fun, or to lecture in any way. I just thought folks might want to stop and appreciate that for a second, and maybe think, if I could talk to a room full of people that big, what would I say?

6. Though I am sure it is not possible, it would be cool if a counter

was placed on the o/p to see how many hits it gets.

Just post a little tracking image in your OP and count the hits on it.
