7. Then why don't I feel safer or more secure or more prosperous or
more anything except more concerned? I'm an 'American people' but I must not have gotten the 'good year' memo. Drat!

9. In Boosh's world, blacks don't count as people.
Only the lily white count to the BFEE and then you also have to be ultra-rich and immoral. A pinch of self-righteousness and two pounds of hate.

10. We need no further proof of how out of touch with reality he is.

He and all the other RWers live in a parallel universe with their own concept of reality.

14. I heard that FEMA will downgrade Katrina to a Cat 3 storm
right before it made landfall. The levee system was supposed to be able to withstand a cat3, so now they have rewritten history and covered their asses. Boosh does not live in a parallel universe, he live in ours and willfully causes harm to America and the world. We let him and then he says unbelievable shit like this.

13. I haven't had a good year since he took office....
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 04:17 PM by FormerOstrich
at least I do have a job now, even though I am super paranoid I'll lose it and hopefully my paranoia doesn't become a self fulfilling prophecy. So I work twelve hour days and neglect everything else. But I'm really sunk if I lose the job it took so long to find one and things are catching up with me. anyway.......

The other day we had a client in our office. The client told us they had just laid off nearly a third of the company (almost 300 people...ho ho ho..Merry Christmas). Later in the meeting the same client mentioned that thier sales were up 15% this year and profits by 10%!!!! They are setting higher goals for the upcoming year. Now, the pre-* me would have have not given much thought to it. The post * me immediately blurted out before I could stop it..really I can see why you needed to lay off those 300 people. Geez did I ever get a dirty look and the room silent. Then I remembered how desperately I need the job and I clamped my mouth shut.

How messed up is that? This company isn't rebounding from a downturn or anything they have been profitable for years. I guess 10% is too modest for them but damn at what point does the value of being utilitarian exceed the value of an increase in profit?

16. He needs to qualify that.
It was certainly not a good year for families who lost loved ones or had loved ones come home wounded in his illegal war in Iraq. It was not a good year for people devastated by Katrina and other natural disasters. It was not a good year for people who lost jobs thanks to downsizing, plant closures, and outsourcing. It was not a good year for families who lost their life savings and/or homes because of a medical crisis they couldn't afford. It was not a good year for the homeless and the working poor who are one rent payment away from the street. It was not a good year for workers who saw their pensions slashed by corporate greed. It was not a good year for anyone who put gasoline in the tank or opened a winter heating bill. It was not a good year for seniors forced to choose between food and medicine and the millions of children who also live in poverty.

How dare this S.O.B., who lives in a protective bubble and never comes face to face with ordinary people, spew such bullshit. If anything, it's been a crappy year for the American people, and only destined to get crappier under his watch.
