Former Roy Moore supporter reveals chilling prophecy
"The woman who filed suit to reinstate Roy Moore as Alabama’s Supreme Court chief justice now fears his election as governor.

Whether Christian talk show host Kelly McGinley had a falling out with the right wing of the Republican Party or saw a vision of the future, she’s saying some chilling things.

From Mobile, Ms. McGinley said Mr. Moore and his followers want to establish a theocracy, or a government by a person or persons who claims to rule with divine authority.

She said they “wish to bring a government based on Old Testament law, which would administer the death penalty for offenses ranging from homosexuality to talking back to your parents.” "

1. Sounds like "Dominion Theology"
Dominionists are way whacked. Basically they are the Christian version of the Taliban.
No difference really.

21. Yep, check out RJ Rushdoony.
Scares the hell out of me, but then I've read the New Testament, especially the words of Jesus. The Dominionists/Christian Reconstructions seem only to rely on the Old Testament, which does give you pause as they claim to be "Christians".

25. Mouthy kid disobedient to parents? Stone him to death!
That's what we're talking about here.
reinstatement of the most vicious and violent repression of the Old Testament.
Stuff that, according to the New Testament, even Jesus himself would not countenance.

11. Well said!
The scary thing is, this sort of activity is really biblically prophetic... God warned of those who would come in his name and fool many... if you believe those fairy tales:) It is seriously scary that these guys are so wrapped up in their own glory to see that what they are doing was foretold and already labeled as evil in the extreme by the One they profess to worship.

Unfreakingbelieveable!

28. Book of Matthew, chapter 21 or thereabouts...
this is rough because I don't have a Bible in the office:

"On that day (judgment day) there will be many who will say, "Lord, Lord, did we not work many miracles and cast out demons in your name?'
"But I will say to them, 'Get away from me. You were never mine, and I never knew you."

I shouldn't suspect the writer, but she does implicate the CNP, Moon, and others.

I'm not going to say all Masons are bad (And I don't believe that they are), but some lodges such as the P2 Lodge in Italy have been suspected of doing pretty bad things.

26. Yeah, I believe it, just from the radio I heard in that state
during the height of the Roy Moore idiocy. I keep hoping for that, er, prophet to start his own political party, although I do wish he'd wait until we get ours back.

It's inevitable. The Dominionists want power so bad they can taste it, smell it, and feel it tickling their pink parts. They will eventually start their own theocratic party, now that their stealth candidates have a track record in the GOP.

Whether or not they get too far is anyone's guess. I keep hoping for the millenial religious nuttiness to run its course, and it does seem to be fading ever so slightly around here.

Yes, these people are completely crazy, and yes, we have to fight them tooth and nail. The epithet "unchristian" is a great place to start, since they've read the words and think they have divine authority to ignore them. It's time to call them what they are.

27. there is some disagreement over homosexuality among these people...
I am not making this up:
the argument is over whether gays/lesbians should be stoned to death simply for BEING homosexual, or
they should be stoned to death only if caught in mid-homosexual sex act.
Seriously, these people are dangerously fucked up.

39. See though, they are rational.
They are having a principled reasoned discussion about the appropriateness of two different conclusions following from a shared set of agreed-upon premises. What's more rational than that?

It's just that all the premises are crazy...

29. Here are some questions one might ask of the wackier fundies:
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 09:23 PM by ocelot
(I collected these off the Internets awhile back; don't know the author)

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21: 7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15:19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1: 9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev.11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

who will administer old testament law, how is this women being prophetic, by saying he wants to institute a biblical theocracy? The headline makes it sound like some sort of unseemly psychic prediction.
