A couple of things that really bother me.... |
|
Why the right does not use the example of mega churches closing on Christmas as an example of the WAR ON CHRISTMAS!
Why the right doesn't jump on Corporations for paying their workers so poorly they have to use programs such as food banks, Medicaid/medicare, housing assistance and WIC to exist, Why should my tax dollars go to support mega corps below poverty wages? (I am all for social programs, but where are the anti-tax spew units on this?)
Why the left seems to put all the attention on reproductive rights as an argument against the recent supreme court appointees and wannabe appointees (and that is a big argument, no doubt) , and workers rights, benefits and wage regulations seem to be flying under the radar. I can only imagine what a supreme court full of right wing corporate suckups will do to the working and middle class.
Only a few of the things I am thinking about while wrapping gifts.
Happy Holidays Everyone.

1. I certainly don't understand the no church on Sunday deal |
|
It sounds, well, unchristian. When I was a young lad (A long, long time ago) we went to Mass on Christmas day and midnight mass regardless of the day and then we went to Mass on Sunday. So if Christmas fell on a Saturday or a Monday we went to Mass three times in a 24 hour period. And the church was always open; and there were no questions or rationalizations about not going to church and yet we still had time for family at home. I guess we were just wacky liberals back then. And as an altar boy I'd usually be at church four or five times a week, but always on Sunday. And as an added benefit, way back then, the Priest never bitched about liberals or secular humanists or the conservative hate target du-jour; no, back then the Priest only bitched at who was in Church. Yes, the good old days.
Christian conservatives avoiding Church because Christmas falls on Sunday - why there's a word for that - hypocrisy!! Whoda thunk it coming from the group who hates in the name of Jesus Christ.
