New idea to grow support for impeachment.. |
|
I like this idea. During the day, DRIVE WITH YOUR LIGHTS ON movement to show you favor impeachment.
It's simple, it's instant, it's practical and it's timely. No expense. Everybody can do it.
Then there also has to be a sign in your back window or a bumper sticker that says "drive lights on if you want Bush impeached." We could make it on our computers or have a banner company do it professionally in two parts. When the car is parked or lights aren't on, the sign is still doing it's work.
Everyone would know who wants him out, it would be national, horns might start blowing, thumbs up signs (you might get the finger too), we can give it right back.
THIS COULD REALLY CATCH ON. .... What do you think?

7. We surely want to do something. |
|
This is the quickest way I can think of to immediately give a visual to show that you want him out. Naturally it will start slow, but as people see the sign or start hearing about it, it could be instant participation.
At night, we could turn our lights off lol. That would make us stand out too. But in lieu of that, we could have the neon bumper sticker made. I would surely spend the few bucks.
The point is, we have GOT to do something. In our wildest imagination, we never dreamed we would have credible people talking about this actually happening. We have GOT to get something going. And I can't think of anything quicker if we can start getting the word out to participate.

11. All you need is the sign then Ladyhawk. |
|
What does it cost for people to turn their lights on and feel good about it. Eight five per cent of the people in the MSNBC poll want him impeached. You think there aren't alot of other people that wouldn't be happy to turn their lights on?
And I think they would realize, they want to spread the word and get a sign up too.
What could be quicker to start some sort of national signal?

If you don't support impeachment, you should drive with your headlights off at night. :P

8. You can't do that,,,, sorry..not here in NYS |
|
driving without your headlights on is a violation as well as a safety hazard. You'll get a hefty summons for that...think of something else.

People who don't want to see * impeached (and drive with their lights off ~ yeah right) would get "Darwin'ed" (b/c we don't want them in the gene pool anyway)!
See....simple :hi:

19. Oh my God, do you realize how perfect that is then? |
|
If you're one of us and we get this national support signal going, you would have your lights on and you would have your sign.
Now can you imagine a republican who HAS TO drive with their lights on because it's state law? They have just become a Bush hater going down the road and have no way to tell you they aren't.
But it's even better if one of those disgusting freepers is going down the road in his beemer or Lexus in most states which don't require lights to be on, if he has one of those models which automatically activates the headlights as a safety feature.
Picture this, idiot freeper is tooling down the road. You go by and wave at him and smile. He or she thinks you're just a friendly chap and returns the wave. Then as you pass and they see the back of your car, they see your sign and they realize why you waved.
Now they think you think they waved because they want to impeach Bush. Oh my God, that's perfect.
I'm liking this more every minute.

Driving with your *HIGH BEAMS* on may be a violation but ordinary low beams or "daytime running lights" are legal anywhere anytime.

9. You remember that Baby on Board |
|
sticker or wagger. That damn thing went national. This could certainly do as well as that. This is not my original idea. I can't take credit for it, but I like it for the reasons I expressed.
Look around you, how many cars do you see driving with their lights on during the day? 1% ? I don't think even that many.
It has to be coupled with the sign or banner. That's critical. Otherwise it wouldn't get the message rolling. But when we see a car turn their lights on, and honk or wave, that will feel pretty good.
I still like it. Lights on like a funeral for Bush.

12. Do you ever see people turning on their lights |
|
when they see yours are on? If you had a sign saying you had your lights on to show you favor impeachment, you might.
I am going to take whatever raps I have to for this until I see something better. Or quicker.
If we don't take advantage of what is going on right now, we better be prepared to suffer the consequences. I think lights on for impeachment has us doing something.
I'm going to do it. If I'm the only one, well then, so be it.

15. No, I was hoping we could get some of the |

great creative minds on here to start brainstorming it.
I'm getting hammered so far just for saying we have a way to get a national movement started. That's what I'm disappointed about.
But I'm going to feel great tomorrow when I get in my car and turn the lights on.

|
Edited on Sun Dec-25-05 07:07 PM by Mind_your_head
It really is a good one! But it definitely needs some sort of 'sign'/bumpersticker thingy (although many ppl don't like bumberstickers on their cars) to go along with it. Perhaps in a day or so, after the holidaze, some of the artisans on the board with become 'inspired'.
Keep posting, keep asking :hi:
on edit: obviously only 'daytime demostrations' will be of 'value' ;-)
