No asbestes underwear here.

I just watched Bill Clinton's speach of 11/10/05. I sure miss the big dog and I long for another President worthy of the Presidency. He looked and sounded like a man on top of his game. bless you bill

1. He looks healthy and happy
I'm glad because it would have really been awful to lose him so young, and at this time.

2. what would you expect to get flamed for?
for misspelling speech?

hell, a lot of people here spell it as speach and don't get flamed for it.

5. I wouldn't want to be married to him but I sure do love him!
It's great to hear an intelligent President again.

He makes W look worse than he already is. I can't imagine Georgie speaking like this after his term is (thankfully) up!

6. There are a few people here fond of knocking Bill Clinton.
I am not one of them.

People fault him for making deals with corporatists, but if that's the price of having a President that genuinely cares about the middle class and encourages policies that, on the whole, help them, then I'll take his welfare and telecom bill signings. After all, the destruction of radio gave way to the anarchy of the Internet.

And I got into an argument about free trade last week after positing that Clinton would make a great Sec-Gen for the UN. Clinton was for regulated free trade, but like any smart policy-maker, knew that flawed progress was better than no progress.

Given the five year ass-reaming that we are taking from the Bush Administration, it's hard for me to understand how people can complain about Clinton.

He and JFK will be on Rushmore by the time this is all done.

7. Thanks DU Member
I love DU. I would have missed the speech if not for the "heads up" posted by a DU member. I too became nostalgic for the old days when Clinton was prez. He looked and sounded great. He's a great speaker unlike the current person in the WH that I can't bear to listen to.
