Edited on Wed Oct-22-03 08:41 PM by TheWebHead
Bob Brown, the leader of the minority Opposition politicial party was removed from the building. Shrub smirked during interruption.

interesting how only Fox is carrying this... Networks aren't giving * the soapbox they did with his ratings in freefall.

Edited on Wed Oct-22-03 08:57 PM by ozscott
Skynews Australia says both Brown and Nettle stood their ground and weren't thrown out.

Brown shouted anti-war and we (Australians) are not his sherriff.

Nettle called bush a sell out

Also Brown called for respect for the Iraqi people

Bush Jr's not a sell out by any means. He's upholding the "values" of greed and fascism that have been traditional in his family for at least the last three generations.

31. One interesting paragraph in the Yahoo story everyone missed
"Trying to counter anti-American lessons in many Indonesian schools, the president said he would ask Congress for $157 million in education grants for Megawati's government. Like Bush, Megawati faces an election next year, and she tried to appear close to Bush while saying that her citizens are suspicious of the United States."

Wonder what he's going to cut to get this dick the money, maybe some of his tax cut? Nahhhh, another BIG group of children will be left behind.

Of course, Bush is also famous for promising money then not delivering, so it's not clear yet just which perfidy he's actually committing.

38. Dont be fooled by a name
John Howard (the us press has at least twice called him by his wrong name John Major was one of those names) John Hunt was the other (hunt rhymes with ??)

Howard is leader of the Australian Liberal Party which is the conservative party in Australia. And you are probably right in saying Congress would not boo him. He espouses exactly the same rhetoric as your Shrub.

We in Australia reserve the right to boo anyone we disagree with and Green and Nettle will be heroes for the day downunder

44. To Jrocker,
sorry you were so beat up here. If you are a Democrat, Green, Progressive, or something similar, please stick around. You are right that people should be respectful of others. But, you see, Bush has all the power and media control, so it is very difficult for anyone to exercise freedom of speech with him. So in this case it is very appropriate to be rude to him. Very, very necessary and appropriate. You are right that rudeness is not normally a proper and useful course of action. But understand that Bush is a monster war criminal who controls our government and most of our media. How can we show him that we think he is a criminal bastard? We must be rude. Bad taste must take precedence over criminal murdering psychopathy. Stick around, please, we need all the help we can get (if you'd like to help, we'd like to have you).

45. You're talking about a situation that would never happen ...
... simply because former President Clinton is such an honerable and respected man, and loved wide and far. The chances of Clinton being booed or heckled are slim to none, where ever he goes he is thronged by adoring crowds.

Bush is a war criminal and should be tried for his crimes against humanity and given all the forgiveness and compassion he has shown others - zilch.

You repukes are all mad just because bunkerboy is such a hated "man" - and for many good reasons.

That's because the police don't let it happen. True protest in this country is squashed. They now have "protest zones" that are far from the leader so as not to present a true picture of how Americans feel. God bless the Aussies.

he was addressing them. Man that would be cool, but your right it doesn't happen. The 3000 protesters, wrestling with cops outside parliment were not allowed to get close to shub. Culturally different, and with parliment the left gets some real representation, but in many ways much the same. Anyway, thank them if you like what they did.

......outside Parliament yesterday. Protestors were confined behind barriers 200 metres from the entrance....on instructions from the US Secret Service.

Aussie journalists were excluded from the Presidential press entourage during the visit.....in short Bush was enveloped in a friendly coccoon during his visit (aside from the 'incident' inside the House.)
