Cost of College up 40% = bush* more popular with college crowd?
Here is the link for the costs of college (Mainly due to bush*s tax cuts for the wealthy that has bankrupted the states, which then raise tuition)

http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20031021_1137.html

I don't have the link to bush*s "increased" popularity, but it sure seems like a good argument for fighting back in the class warfare he has escalated. A solid way to show bush*s elitism. He's more "popular" on campus because he's put it out of reach for the average American. And he's changed the rules of financial aid so that if you skip the question regarding drugs, your application is denied(also don't have that link, it's on DU somewhere).

Summary
bush* tax cuts put more money in hands of wealthy
bush* tax cuts cripple states budgets
states raise college tuition to cover for bush* tax cuts
bush* attacks financial aid that is a staple of middle class
college student bodies skew upward classwise
bush* more popular on college campuses

bush* trades Americas future for a god-damned poll result

2. This ALL just turns my stomach............
First of all, I don't believe that poll. I do not believe that college kids like Bush more than a Dem. It depends on what college you take the poll. Harvard maybe. Yale maybe.WVU, UAB, etc......no way!!

3. I thought the poll was bogus too. Then I saw the college costs
story on Buzzflash and the light bulb over my head startled me when it came on.

4. are you kiddin'?
Schools like Harvard and Yale have their snotty rich kids, but there are
tons of upper middle class mega liberals at those schools. On the other
hand, schools like WVU, UAB, Penn State, Georgia, etc are completely
filled with middle class dimwits who support Dubya even as he screws
them on tuition, reinstates the draft, makes certain their own parents
go from Union Jobs to Wal-Mart Greeters.

My wife went to a New England small, liberal arts college. It's about
98% Green/lib Dem. I went to a huge State School and I guaranTEE
you Bush won there in 2000, the GOP won there in 2002, they all
support Arnie and they will vote GOP even as tuition there has
increased 40% in the past 3 years.

Many college students at state schools are there almost as vocational
training. They go to get the BA/BS, and a ticket to The Middle Class.
They don't pay much attention to politics while in school, and mostly
follow what their middle-class, suburban parents believe. They want
to study and get out while partying before full adulthood.

I talk to recent college grads all the time where I live and they have
all the Faux Talking Points down pat. They don't want to think too
hard and it's really sad/frustrating. I was 'trivia master' at a local pub
and asked the question "how many of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi?".
This is a crowd of 23-28 yr old recent college grads, now professionals.
I'd say maybe 20% of the teams got it right. They have absolutely NO
IDEA what Bush is doing to the country, they just think they're getting
'a tax cut' and that he 'seems like an ok guy'!
