Congrats to DU'ers! We've faked the freepers into supporting Dean.
I don't know how many of you are doing this with me, but for quite some time I've been posting over there about how Dean is easily beatable and how we freepers should cross over and vote for Dean, and maybe even donate to his campaign.

I swear now, every Dean thread over there I see more and more freepers saying Dean is unelectable and talking about how they're going to cross over and help us get him the nomination.

Anyway, whoever else is doing it, keep up the good work. I can't do it alone or it looks suspicious.

20. how do we know you aren't trying to deflect attention
from the obvious confidence most pubbies have in bush beating Dean?

you know,,,,pretend it isn't true? dilute the bad news about your candidate's slim chances?

but I never did. Guess I'll be jumping on the Dean bashing bandwagon.

this isn't a game. I believe in the democratic process. I believe that if every person votes their conscience, the best person will win. And the 'best person' is a pretty loose term; I would even suggest that the great white US of A might have karmically needed to have Bush (would prefer not).

But, if your candidate is the best person, don't you think it means more if he wins the nom through above-board activism instead of manipulation?

Now, if Dean wins and there's a phenomena about freepers crossing lines, then you have personally had a hand in tainting the value of that nomination.

Maybe you shouldn't spend so much time at the freeper board. I hear it's really contagious - whatever the heck they have.

PS: I don't think Dean's people would appreciate this one bit; not one bit.

6. Well, we will just have to agree to disagree then.
The Republican Party openly gave money to the Greens in 2000. The Republican Party ran a candidate whose name happened to be Jesse Jackson against the actual Democratic candidate. The Republican party specializes in dirty tricks in elections.

Screw them. I'm not doing anything wrong. If they happen to fall for it, it's their own damned fault. I hope they all max out their credit cards helping Howard get the nomination. More power to them.

12. What if Dean is not the best candidate to beat georgie?
I know Dean supporters think there is no other candidate, but in my opinion, Wesley Clark can beat Bush by taking back some southern states. The pugs think those states are in the bag, and, hopefully, some of them are not set up to be stolen. Taking some of those southern states might be our only chance to beat *. You don't honestly expect a slew of southerners to vote for Dean, do you? If so, you could be in for a rude awakening if he wins this nomination.

Wesley is already getting cross-over support, which will get stronger the more southern states he appears in.

I will state what I have stated often in this forum, "I support Dennis Kucinich". However, if his campaign doesn't take off within the next few months, I will vote for Clark.

Just a vote.

If you've got them donating their $3.50 a week tax cut to the dems.....TOUCHE!

16. YOU might believe in the democratic process
but our opponents do not.
therefore, we must not be so naive as to think that they are going to "play fair" and leave the nomination of the Democratic candidate to Democrats. You weren't aware of them plotting to attempt to throw the MoveOn primary to Al Sharpton? They registered at MoveOn in their dogs' names and also announced brazenly that even after the deadline for registering for the vote they could somehow get people registered (I forget the details of that trick).

No need to remind anyone of the Repugs' love of touch-screen voting machines, or of the "anomalies" in 2000 and 2002 elections.

Over at freeperville they constantly discuss plans for interfering in the Democratic primary.

Since Dean is the most innovative of the candidates and also seems to have a good awareness of the low tricks that his opponents can and will play, I actually think he would chuckle if he knew of this tactic. I am one of "Dean's people" (along with almost 500,000 others who have signed on as supporters) and I do approve.

11. Would you rather have them donating to Nader?
Those numbnuts are all about corrupting elections. Ever heard of 'freeping' a poll?

What the hell, if you support Kerry, convince the freepers that he's unelectable and get them to vote for Kerry. All I'm doing is trying to steer them in the right direction.

15. what good does it do for you to feed into the perception that…
Repubs are supporting Dean because they think he's unelectable… which leads to Dems thinking he's unelectable.

I support Dean… I do not support your tactics.

franky, I think you're a fucking idiot.

18. Hilarious!
The more people voting for Dean, the better. Lowering expectations is always good politics too, I might add.

19. You ain't a kiddin about the 'low expectations' stuff.
Look at Bush:

Prior to the 2000 debates, reporters gushed about how poor a debater he was and how he was sure to make errors. When he emerged without looking like a complete imbecile, it was a great victory for Bush.

Just 3 months ago, White House budget analysts increased their estimates for the budget deficit to $450 billion. Surprise surprise. Now they are back to their original $370 billion and are touting it was good news.
