Your Top Five most despised right-wing pundits?
They are everywhere. It is an infestation. Tough to pick the Top Five, but here's mine, in order. What about yours?
1. Limbaugh - The quintessential bully, and the Most Influential. Has cheapened public discourse like no other.
2. David Horowitz - If he could repeal the First Amendment, he would do it in a minute.
3. Sean Hannity - The Lightweight who carries water for all the RNC talking points. Never met a Bush position he doesn't like.
4. Bill O'Reilly - Another cheap bully who can dish it out but not take it. Talk about thin skinned.
5. Ann Coulter - Pure, undiluted hatred. She would rank higher, but will self-destruct eventually, to thinking peoples' benefit.

With apologies to Savage, Liddy, Dornan, Robertson, Bennett, Ingraham, Charon, Malkin, et. al. All deserving. Tough to narrow it down. What's your list?

My five:

1. Rush Limbaugh...lying, drug addicted, hypocritical...did I mention LYING?? GASBAG with a dirty butt.

2. Bowtie Carlson...the smarmy little prep bastard who needs to be pantsed and then get his ass taped shut just like in BREAKFAST CLUB.

3. O'Reilly...because he makes other Americans think he's just like them...ignorant and argumentative.(oh yeah, he is)

4. Pat Robertson...hypocritical murdering gold digging Jesus MORON end times war monger who makes me HOPE there's a HELL.

5. All the rest of them. :D

16. Dean, because of the war
He was against the insanity from the get-go, and that means a lot. But, I will support anyone against Bush. Worst president in American history, and I consider myself an American history buff, and well-read in the subject. Much to like, and to criticize, about all of them, but the stakes are too great to get too heated against any of them. How about you? By the way, I like the Dennis Miller addition to my list. Forgot about him. All are worthy.

22. Miller is the worst kind..I guess we should add John Stossel too
I was VERY much in favor of Graham's run since he had governed a large state, sat on the intelligence committee and served in the Senate..as well as a NO vote on the war resolution but I guess being HIGHLY qualified isn't sexy enough these days for a campaign to survive.

I like the infrastructure Dean created and would gladly vote for him if he won the nomination.

I am still on the fence a bit but will gladly vote for any Dem (although Lieberman and Gephardt are VERY LOW on my list due to their rose garden dog and pony show that undermined the Biden Lugar amendment and cemented this rush to war...I can for give a VOTE, theirs was NOT just a vote but mutiny)

Horowitz is a friggin' idiot too, but I don't see him as often as the other yahoos I listed. Coulter is the shrillest, Hannity is the most pugnacious, Limbaugh is the slimiest, O'Reilly is a bully blowhard who pretends not to be a conservative and Scarborough is the new clown on the block.

1. Rush Limbaugh-pompous, hypocritical, apologist for conservative crimes and absolves the right of any responsiblity for anything that is generally considered to be bad for the nation.
2. Bill O Reilly-Media bully who whines whenever the tables are turned on him. Once heard him doing a show on Frankend titled "Journalistic terrorism."
3. Ann coulter-A she-man with an acumen honed to the keen edge of a plastic butter knife. I loathe the sound of her voice.
4. Joe Scarborough-hate his arrogant empty headed style. Especially the smug psychotic grin that reminds me of the sort Christian Bale wore in "American Psycho"
5. a lot. Christopher Hitchens, Horowitz.."comedian" Dennis Miller.

...Frank Luntz, because he's portrayed as a mainstream pollster.

And how did John Fund escape??

He's in my top five.

Also Kellyann Fitzpatrick Conway, Joseph diGenova and lizard wife Victoria Toensing, and Barbara Comstock (now spokeswoman for Ashcroft, former head of opposition research for RNC). We don't see these as often now, but they're venomous.

Then there's Steve Malzburg. Grrrrrr. And the blonde chick who used to work for Nixon...Dr. somebody.

They have so many!

This list goes on and on, doesn't it? Loved your choices; not the most obvious, but well deserving. Here's another, oldie but moldy: Phyllis Schlafly. And who can forget the right-wing hypocrite's hypocrite, Dr. Laura? For diversity's sake, can't beat Walter Williams. Aargh! Can do this all night, but it's bedtime. Thanks for your excellent list!

20. so many to choose from
Tough call, but I will pass on the easy and better-known targets like Limbaugh, Coulter, et al, for these reeking turds...

1. Diana West - see link here for why she earned my numero uno spot:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=315602

2. Jonah Goldberg - Jiminycheezdoodle! He makes George Will look meek and humble with his overweening arrogance, ignorance, and hateful claptrap.

3. Michelle Malkin - if you ever are unlucky enough to hear her speak, let alone read her op-eds, you will poke icepicks in your eardrums and gouge out your eyes with a fork.

4. Michael Medved - dirty drunken gnomes live inside his cheesy moustache. He dines on worms and Cheetos.

5. Kathleen Parker - tests the limits of human stupidity - and smashes them every time. She is so dumb she makes my teeth itch and my knees curl.

24. What about Sully?
I really think we need to add Andrew Sullivan to this list. Seriously. Even at number 5, just because he acts like he's better than Coulter and you know they were both of the same monstrous litter, but he's more of a bottom, so he's under her. So she's at 4. Round it off with smug, sociopathic Scarborough at 3; obnoxious, onerous O'Reilly at 2; and hateful Hannity at number 1.

27. I'm american ndn
I'm an american indian so I especially despise all the people of color who have tried to make a buck by telling the right what they want to hear. So another top 5 list from me.

1. David Yeagley-I doubt that anyone has ever heard of him but his claim to fame is that he is Comanche and supports Indian Mascots, Columbus Day, etc. Fortunately, he's to dumb to get much of an audience.
2. Ken Hamblin-the "black avenger" who takes it upon himself to denounce every issue raised by people of color.
3. D nesh D Souza-Proclaims that racism no longer exists.
4. Linda Chavez-Made a name for herself by denouncing all sorts of mexican american causes.
5. Perkins-some dumb african american guy that writes for a san francisco paper. His columns come straight from Rush limbaugh.

Honorable mention Michelle Malkin, Walter Williams, Sowell etc.

31. Novak, MSNBC, Limbaugh, the insufferables, the clueless
Edited on Fri Oct-24-03 03:42 AM by DeepModem Mom
1. Novak: Exposed Ms. Plame, is not sorry, and would do it again. Has long history in journalism, appears on CNN, and is published across the country, including in the WaPo, so is taken more seriously by mainstream than Limbaugh, O'Reilly.

2. Frank Luntz, Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman: Luntz is presented to MSNBC viewers as nonpartisan pollster/analyst, enabling him to mislead mainstream viewers. (CNN's Bill Schneider, the American Enterprise Institute fellow who is CNN's "senior political analyst," almost falls into this category.) Matthews and Fineman misuse their positions at MSNBC and Newsweek, by acting as "right-wing pundits" -- again, misleading viewers and readers.

3. Limbaugh: His millions of listeners outnumber readers and tv watchers; they believe and agree with everything he says, and he indoctrinates them on a daily basis.

4. O'Reilly, Coulter, and Noonan: All so full of themselves that you'd "despise" them regardless of their politics, just for the smug, self-righteous, know-it-all expressions on their respective faces.

5. Laura Ingraham: An I'm-so-cute-and-only-doing-this-for-the-money fake, who knows very little about what she's talking about. (Many of the above, in fact, don't know that much about what they talk about.)

38. so many to choose from
1: Coulter has the top spot. This Nazi Barbie Wannabe is the most mean spirited, debasing, stupid, ill-informed, lying wretch ever to be hatched. She's got to be the bastard spawn of Schlaffly and Savage.

2: O'Reilly. I had a hard time putting him in second, but the urge to toss my tacos is less intense than with Coulter. I'm sure when he was in school, he had the shit beat out of him by the other kids to grow up to be such a spoiled blowhard with an ego the size of Asia. Poor Bill, anyone who disagrees with his "facts" is picking on him. Maybe he should just get his facts str8 for a change.

3: Falwell. Again a hard placement. I actually laugh at this pompus self-righteous windbag more than anything. I mean who else manages to get themselves into more trouble by opening thier mouth than him. 9-11 happened because of pagans and gays. Ohhhhhkay. Hillary had Vince Foster offed. Allllllrighty. Maybe he should go find a comet to follow...

4: Hannity. If there was ever someone I'd want to see raped in Sing Sing, this guy would be it. Of course, secretly, he'd love it. Homophobic buttmunch that he is.

5: Rushie. Well, maybe we know why he is such an idiot now. Oxy-Contin overkill with a touch of arteriosclerosis will have an effect on the thought process. Or maybe he's just a fatassed windbag.

Honorable mention: Pat Robertson. King of curing exzema on a prayer partner in Idaho through prayer. Emperor of agreement with Falwell about 9-11, then back tracking by saying all I said was "I concur" and had no idea what he was concurring about. Ditto this last bit of confusion over nuking the State Department.

Imus himself is an incredible disappointment to me. I like his "suffer no fools" demeanor, and he seems smart (compared to the above listed usual suspects), and has done a lot of good work for kids, but he doesn't seem to "get" what is wrong with Repug behavior. His sidekick Bernie shares this disconnect, but has no redeeming features that I can see, so I'll nominate him.

The usual in-your-face fascists don't bother me as much as those slimy stealth hucksters who pretend to be impartial, objective, "fair and balanced", even liberal: Tweety, Wolfe Blitzer, Bill Schneider, Candy Crowley, Tim Russert, especially Frank Luntz, who never seems to mention while push-polling his hand-picked "cross-section of voters" he's a paid strategist for the GOP. MSNBC is potentially much more insidious than FOX.

48. Hard to narrow it down to 5, but I will try.
Edited on Fri Oct-24-03 11:36 AM by CheshireCat
1-Limbaugh - He started the rightwing radio trend.

2-Ann Counter - digustingly racist, homophobic and classist. How in the hell did this simplistic person get a law degree.

3-Bill O'Reilly - shut up!

4-Savage - idiot mad dog

5-Tied between Bill Bennett and Novakcular

Dishonorable mention:

-Frank Gaffney
-Bill kristol
-Scarborough
-Hannity
-Falwell
-Robertson
-Noonan
-Ollie North

One other would have made my top 5, but I cannot remember her name. Maybe someone can help me out. She heads a group called "Concerned Women of America" or something like that. She is a small, blonde fembot who I find more offensive that Bennett and Novak.

Have seen her on Crossfire and MSNBC many times. Don't watch FOX so I do not know if she is on it.

If you know her name, please let me know.

70. SANDY RIOS - And, an excellent choice
Another right-wing talking head; president of Concerned Women of America (cwfa.org - check it out). Formed by the wife of the guy who does the Book of Revelation bestsellers (Lahaye is his and her name). Really a far-out group, and a superb choice for this thread.

Let's put him on the list... from HMS Pinafore ... or was that song from the Miago? Geeze - college was a long time ago.

51. The worst three of all
1. Hannity---total Bush brownnoser. No imagination, just repeats straight from the White House memos.
2. Mike savage---deranged pervert
3. Ann Coulter---pyschobitch from hell

56. A tie
For first place with me:

1. Lush Rimbaugh/Hannity-mean, lying horrible men
3. The blond ho Coulter-a traitor to her gender and nuts too
4. William F. Buckley Jr.-hated him since childhood
5. Jonah Goldberg-smarmy personality; looks like a kiddie pornographer

1. Bill O'Reilly
2. Bill O'Reilly
3. Bill O'Reilly
4. Bill O'Reilly
5. Bill O'Reilly

Ann "the man" Coulter is a joke. We need more rightwingers like her as she discredits the right. Limbaugh is a junkie.

59. 1. rush limbaugh
- for single-handedly pioneering ad-hominem/deomonization pundity, creating scores of imitators, and setting back the course of public discourse at least 500 years

2. fred barnes - something about that smug piece of shit and his sham of a debate show with grinning yes-man sidekick morton kondracke gets on my last nerve. and would it kill the guy to uncross his fucking arms?

3. dennis miller -because just over a year ago he was having guests like tim robbins on his show and tearing bush apart. it's so obvious that he knows better, is a fucking liar, and is just out to save his washed-up m&m advertising ass (and because, loathe as i am to admit, i used to be a fan)

4. joe 'dead intern' scarborough - an arrogant slimeball - and, even worst, an unoriginal arrogant slimeball. his whole 'joe's real deal' segement is just a cheap knock-off of o'reilly's talking points, in which the host both reads and puts his lies on the screen so the brain-dead members of audience can absorb them a bit easier.

5. peggy noonan - just fuckin' creepy. fuck ronnie's comatose corpse and get it over with already!

honorable mention:
lucianne goldberg - condescending smut peddler and mother of the incubus jonah goldberg

glenn beck - self-promoting piece of shit war rally organizer and takes lying to strange new levels

ann coulter - would be higher on the list, but i think she actually helps our cause by being so damned unlikable. her only appeal is to the hardcore freepers who actually believe her

sean hannity - same as above

barbara bush - not really a pundit, but i looked through her book at kmart last night - god, do i hate that woman!

60. I hate the more subtle ones -- Lou Dobbs, Paula Zahn, that skank whore on
capital report (Gloria something) .....

Novak's pretty awful, too. As is Tucker Carlson. People like Carlson come across as "likeable" which in fact makes them more insidious than the pit-bulls like Hannity

61. The list is long and distinguished, and you want five?
Okay.

1. Limbaugh. No question. Once you get past the drugs, and the racism, and the far-right conservatism, what's left is an extremely infuriating yet stupid person. Any thinking person would want to drown him in the bathtub even if he was a Marxist.

2. Coulter. Ya just gotta love someone who thinks Joe McCarthy was a misunderstood soul.

3. (tie) Oliver North and G. Gordon Liddy. Neither should be on the radio. Both should be running the machine that makes license plates.

5. Michelle Malkin. I saw her once. She managed to call fifteen people communists in the space of ten minutes--a record not equaled even by Annthrax's hero Unca Joe.

Spread it to ten and I will add, in this order, Hannity, O'Reilly, Scarborough, Savage and Novak.

Edited on Fri Oct-24-03 02:48 PM by OaktownGrrl
For shame, for SHAME. (edit: okay, it took 59 posts, beat me to it!) I can't make up my mind who's fuglier, her or Bar. Both of them possess black hearts from hell.

That said, top 5:

Limpballs
Mannthrax Coulter
O'Leilly
Sean Insanity
Savage Weiner

63. the RW "Democratic" pundits
You know, the ones they push on the public as "Democrats"; both of whom hate - Democrats.

1. Pat Caddell - an angry, embittered bastard
2. Chris Matthews - see above description

And for good measure, the Senior Political Correspondent for CNN, the redoubtable donut-faced Candy Crowley, just because she exists.
