Indicates to me that they don't have a single leg to stand on. They had all night to come up with something and they blew it. All they can do now is lie, lie, lie while they plan some other, new "crisis" for the Chimp to pull us through prior to the next election.

7. MIRVs

The WH is taking a multiple attack approach. They know the public has no ability to sift through an excess of information. So they flood the system and then sit back and claim the issue has been dealt with. Its an old debating trick. You ask the other side a question that requires too much information for the audience to follow and then while the opposition blathers on explaining in detail the facts you win the audience over with charisma.

In a MIRV attack you throw so many refutations into the field that the opposition goes into a spin replying to each one. Meanwhile you can tell the people that the case has been made. Then when a critic denies a point or two you merely let public opinion be carried by the points the critic didn't cover.

You can see this tactic in play in the WMD arena. We blast the Niger forgery. They play the Tubes, the trailers, the gassing of his own people, etc. Bring up another point and they throw another round of chaffe in our faces. They really are the party of Lincoln. They have taken the phrase "You can fool some of the people all of the time" to heart. They know that we will go nuts trying to chase down all of the claims. Meanwhile they win the public debate on charisma.
