"Black Box Voting Blues" was th #1 story on MSNBC's Top Ten (not now)

This is odd. I went to MSNBC's Top Ten (haven't been there in a while) and clicked on a couple of stories and when I went back to the Top Ten there was the black box story at #1 in like 10 to 15 minutes.
Then I refresh Top Ten in just a couple of minutes and it fell from the Top Ten.

Usually (or it used to be) a story hangs arounds for awhile and doesn't make big moves like that.

It had an incredibly high rating (very high 6's) so maybe it was read some more and rated lower. It had only 70 votes so maybe just a few bad rating dropped it like a rock.

If so, it needs some help. *nudge, nudge* *wink, wink* *sharp elbow to the ribs, sharp elbow to the ribs*

States are starting to replace their Rube Goldbergesque technology with digital devices like the Diebold Accu-Vote voting terminal. Georgia uses Diebolds exclusively, and other states have spent millions on such machines, funded in part by the 2002 federal Help America Vote Act. Many more terminals are on the way.

The #9 story is 5.3. To drop it that fast they'd have to be rating it a 1 or a 2. :shrug:

5. It's Nice to See this on MSNBC, but

...note the lead in to electronic "verification" and receipts.

Exactly what VoteHere is proposing to provide.

We've got to get this idea of electronic verification stopped.

For every advance in computer security you can count on at least three ways to circumvent it.

In fact, I'd say computer security belongs in that catagory of tagging something 180 degrees out of phase with reality.

No county could afford what it would take to approach any kind of security on a national, military level.
