Not trying to thrown any cold water here, but if I heading an energy task force those maps would seem to be required reading for all of the members. Got to start somewhere. Perhaps I am missing something? Help me here.

2. Breaking news that Cheney was looking at maps of oil reserves?
Edited on Fri Jul-18-03 07:36 AM by NNN0LHI
I still don't get it. What should they be looking at? Maps of rubber plantations maybe?

5. 3rd-Ken Lay and who else put it together
I don't know, Don, about the Iraq map.
I just know that
Cheney did everything possible to keep
this under wraps.

Waxman is the expert here. I look for his
statement.

Is there mention of Afghan pipeline?

4. is it a map of all known oil reserves or just Iraqi?
if it was just a map of Iraqi oil fields then that would seem a little more damning since I can't imagine what the oil fields owned by another country would have to do with our energy policy, unless we were planning on obtaining them for our own use.

I didn't see that. Did you?

10. no and that's a good point
I saw the same thing as you. Judicial watch seems rather nonpartisan so if they were saying what they are I figured it must be for a good reason but I would like to see more clarification as to what exactly they are looking at.

7. I think to more telling part of the story
is the list of "Potential Suitors", that is, corporations that would be interested in the Iraqi oil. Seems to me that indicates that there was an understanding that the US would control the oil fields in the future.

9. It could all be explained away if it weren't that the energy meetings,....
....occured before 9/11 and then after 9/11 was instant war rumblings against Iraq.

As I remember the oil fields most focused on just happened to be in Afghanistand and Iraq. Boy, isn't that just a coinsidence and a half.

12. The dots are connected
Cheney couldnt tell us that he met with the criminal Ken Lay about plans to go to war with Iraq FOR THE PURPOSE OF SECURING AND EXPLOITING new oil fields.

I say we should string them up!!!

14. it's extremely unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit to learn...
Vice President Cheney admits to having met six times last spring with Lay, but he refuses to give details about those meetings. Undue involvement by Enron executives and others in drafting the energy plan is at the heart of what the Sierra Club hopes this suit will bring to light.
