Uranium from Niger - Ok, let me get this logic straight: |
|
1. Documents that show Saddam was trying to procure uranium ore from Niger are received by US intelligence. 2. US intellegence at first thinks the documents are authentic, and so tells that to British intelligence. 3. US intelligence later proves the documents are in fact forgeries. 4. US intelligence does not bother to tell British intelligence that they know the documents are forgeries. 5. * knows US intelligence has proved the documents were forgeries, so instead cites British intelligence in SOTU as proof that Saddam was trying to procure uranium ore from Niger. Conveniently overlooks the fact that the British intelligence is based upon the exact same evidence that we had that was already proved false.
6. Most conveniently of all, the above line of reasoning is too complex for American people to understand how illogical it is.
