Ari Fleisher on "Letterman" last night
Ari was on Letterman last night doing his "greatest hits". Did anyone see this asshole. He basically sat there and took the oppurtunity (before he returns to the "private sector") to rehash half the lies that this administration has told. He even (to my horror and disgust) rehashed the old lie about Saddam being 6 months away from developing a nuclear weapon back in 1991; a claim which the IAEA said was false when Bush tried to use it as a fall-back position after having first tried to claim that Saddam was six months away from developing a nuclear weapon in 2002. Remember that? Ari thinks we've forgotten and I'm sure alot of people have so he reached into his bag of tricks last night and pulled that one out one last time. Asshole.

2. And he said we had found bio weapon vans
Bush created this lie in May and Ari put in forward again. How vans with canvas walls could be used to create very sensitive bio weapons is beyond all logic, which is where this administration resides.

5. Respectful for the most part
I don't know how well informed Dave is on any particular issue. Not to say that he's totally out of the loop but he didn't seem as though he was going for the goods last night. He'd just sort of allude to things and of course squeeze a joke out of it at some point. He didn't have anything that made Ari sweat.

6. had him on for 3 segments and was respectful (yuck)
In his subtle ways he dug at Bush (Dave did, not Ari), but he gave Ari too much of a chance to regurgitate the lies mentioned above, IMHO.

I thought the really scary thing was the way Ari looked at Dave when he answered the (paraphrased here) question "Does the WH care about or track or look at or just ignore stuff that comedians say about dumbya" and Ari, looking particularly creepy and even a bit threatening said, "Yes, we do track that"---it just seemed sinister.

I hate that douche.

9. MSNBC did their damndest to help with the IAEA nuke lie:
they reported it, but then erased it from their site:

They are complicit, IMHO

Maybe it's time for them to finally re-post this article?

http://www.thememoryhole.org/media/msnbc-iaea-report.htm

-snip-

Blair cited a newly released satellite photo of Iraq identifying new construction at several sites linked in the past to Baghdad's development of nuclear weapons. And both leaders mentioned a 1998 report by the U.N.-affiliated International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, that said Saddam could be six months away from developing nuclear weapons.

"I don't know what more evidence we need," Bush said as he greeted Blair for a brainstorming session on Iraq. "We owe it to future generations to deal with this problem."

-snip-

Contrary to Bush's claim, however, the 1998 IAEA report did not say that Iraq was six months away from developing nuclear capability, NBC News' Robert Windrem reported Saturday.

Instead, Windrem reported, the Vienna, Austria-based agency said in 1998 that Iraq had been six to 24 months away from such capability before the 1991 Persian Gulf War and the U.N.-monitored weapons inspections that followed.

-snip-

WHITE HOUSE ADMITS ERROR

A senior White House official acknowledged Saturday night that the 1998 report did not say what Bush claimed. "What happened was, we formed our own conclusions based on the report," the official told NBC News' Norah O'Donnell.

Meanwhile, Mark Gwozdecky, a spokesman for the U.N. agency, disputed Bush's and Blair's assessment of the satellite photograph, which was first publicized Friday. Contrary to news service reports, there was no specific photo or building that aroused suspicions, he told Windrem.

-on edit,

How can we, as Americans, know if ANY of their "intelligence" is real, at this point?

When they issue these orange terror alerts, is that also based on forged documents, and 10-year-old conclusions??

could al Qaeda be planning another attack on us at this very minute, but these idiots don't know it???
