Bush on NPR re the car bombings: "Terrorists hate freedom."
Did anyone else hear this on NPR yesterday?

He actually said something like "Terrorists hate freedom. Terrorists love terror."

WTF - is he living in some kind of never-never-land? Now, in listeners minds, all of Iraq is filled with terrorists (just like the ones who did 9/11) who hate america. It's not such a leap, then, for middle america to say "well, let's kill em all before they get us!"

I was so mad I could spit!

2. more infantile utterings from the moron?
speaks volume about the mindset of most of this country that over half people can't recognize that this idiot has the thought processes of a typical 10-year old. :eyes:

5. Just like the same idiots who advocate "glassing" Iraq...
Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 07:49 AM by mikeytherat
I had a conversation with one of these idiots who said, "Just nuke the damn country until it's glass." I sez to him:

"So, you want to create MILLIONS of terrorists worldwide, just gunning for America and Americans? You're cool with 350+ U.S. service personnel dead when we were gonna 'glass' the country anyway? You're fine with all of that precious oil (well, the oil that doesn't burn) utterly untouchable for 12,000 years? You can wait 600 generations for any tangible 'payoff' (oil) from this war? Gee, it almost seems like you haven't thought about this."

The response I got? The sound of crickets chirping.

12. I've heard this thinking also - that we just blow up the entire ME
and start over. It would become just another set of states in the United States, and Israel would be one, too.

I said, so you're ok with killing off all those innocents?

He just kind of shrugged his shoulders as if "that's the price you must pay."

21. I hear people who just want to nuke the place too
I think they maybe aren't taking their daily medication like their nice doctor said.

"Now don't listen to the voices in your head. Just take your Haldol anyway. It will make you feel better"

Only a psychotic or a war criminal would murder civilians like that. Amazing the number of Americans who think it would be the right thing to do.

the idiot had the audacity to say that the increased attacks were an indication that the US occupation was going well.

11. Yep, I saw that clip on ABC news
Bush* said the increased attacks were a sign we're winning. Of course this was during a photo op with no questions, just Dubya spouting off.

Whatever, George.:puke:

22. So if, God forbid,
their is a Lebanon type bombing and kills hundreds of our brave soldiers we must REALLY doing well.

I can't believe the spin I am hearing these days. How dare they try to spin the death of US soldiers into good news! How do you think the families feel? This is not definitely not good news for them.

7. Terrorists hate freedom.
That's why B* and Ashcroft have to dismantle our freedoms, you see... so the terrorists won't hate us anymore and will leave us alone.

The other thing the terrorists have hated is our prosperity. That's why B* and the corporations have to outsource our jobs and break the unions, you see... so the terrorists won't hate us anymore and will leave us alone.

Everything done is for our own good and protection.

Repeat the above three times, spin around until slightly nauseated, click your heels, and stick your head in the sand. Then everything will be just fine.

8. you know...
every time I think my "YOU HATE FREEDOM!" schtick is getting old, along comes another boneheaded Bush quote to make it more than a bit appropos.

I can't believe they're still using that lunatic line of logic.

Hating freedom?

How stupid!

10. I heard that crap just yesterday in a court of law -- from the judge!
Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 07:57 AM by mikeytherat
I had Jury Duty and the judge was thanking all of us for doing our patriotic duty and being good Americans, yadda, yadda, yadda, then he adds, "especially since 9/11 when people who HATE OUR FREEDOM attacked us, yadda, yadda, yadda." I snorted loudly and rolled my eyes -- got a look from der judge.

He should know he's terra-ized the working man for 3 years! He hates freedom for everyone in America that don't donate to his campaign war chest, to buy things like elections and SCOTUS judges!

17. Bush has done more to destroy this country than Saddam did!
They prolly work on it together! Even Reagan was smart enough to go catch Despots and put them in jail! If Reagan's brain still worked I'll bet he'd be scared shitless of Bush!

14. WaPo p. 1 article at LBN addresses W's statements....
"Bush Says Attacks Are Reflection of U.S. Gains"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A23470-2003Oct27.html

This piece, written by two Post reporters, with aid from two others, addresses, I think, the increasing absurdity of Bush's statements. Its appearance on page one of the WaPo, and its representing the efforts of four Post reporters, is, I think, pretty significant. The statement in the headline is reminiscent of the Vietnam era statement about destroying a village in order to save it.

16. I heard that yesterday in the car
I could hardly contain myself. I'm sure the other drivers around me thought I was out of my mind because I was screaming and muttering to myself.

The thing that just burns me up is that W. will say those words..."Terrists hate freedom!"....with such conviction that it belies a very shallow mind. I honestly think he believes that the reason we are being attacked on a daily basis is because these silly terrorists hate freedom - oh, and they just loooooove terror! Words don't do justice to this kind of simplistic thinking.

No, moron, the "terrorists" in Iraq don't hate freedom, they feel that they aren't free and are fighting against American occupation. Until you understand their motivation to risk their lives against a heavily armed occupier, then you will continue to see our brothers, sisters, sons and daughters killed on a daily basis for your stupid little war.

18. Let's see....WHAT FREEDOM?!
We're occupying THEIR country.
We're imposing our rules...
We're stealing their oil...
We're killing their people...

:wtf:

I wonder what would happen if somebody decided to invade the US? I
don't think Americans would sit around idly...we'd make them pay...
and that is exactly what the Iraqis are doing.
