What's with this Drudge Report????
I'd seen it bashed here a few times, so I've checked it out a few times. Everything I've ever read on DU about the Drudge Report has indicated that DUers don't think too highly of it.

However, everytime I look at Drudge, all of his linked articles (and I mean ALL of them) have spawned a thread, and are linked, on the General Discussion Board.

Therefore, I'm confused about DU's relationship with Drudge Report. Help please?

2. Do you know what "schmoo" is?
therein lies the answer to your question. Many of the stories are linked in both places, thats all. He schmoozes his stuff. He used to be a playa.

3. Hi, Matt!
Great moniker; guess logging in as "MDrudge" would be a little obvious. Nothin like a little cross-fertilization, huh?

</sarcasm>

Actually, it's not a bad point, but I don't know if it's really true. People watch the major internet outlets, left and right, and post what they find encouraging and what exceedingly pisses them off.

4. I always use Drudge
It's a convenient way to link to all major columnists, newpapers etc.

Never noticed that he was biased. It's just a page of Links is all.
The freepers swear by him though, so he must be a Repug.
Also was guest hosting Rush's show the other day.

5. All those links are also at Buzzflash...
www.buzzflash.com

use that Liberal (and far superior) site instead- by clicking on Drudge, you give Rove/Bush/media advertising $$$, give your "clicks" to Liberal media...

9. Too much hollywood news, and too many fake stories...
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 08:18 PM by Dr Fate
Most of the stories Drudge posted on Clinton were not true, Drudge has posted quite a few stories that were proven false, or never proven...

he also has a lot of Enquirer style Hollywood gossip...

Buzzflash is strictly hardcore news, politics, and editorials from a Democratic POV, and they have no record of printing fake stories like Drudge does all the time.

No way is Drudge more credible than Buzzflash...Durudge used fake stories to smear Clinton, Buzzflash uses actual sources to expose Bush...

19. LOLhoney, you on the wrong site if you think DRUDGE is more credible than
buzzflash. After all, buzzflash is clearly left leaning. If democratic politics bother you, why on earth are you posting here on DEMOCRATICUNDERGROUND?

Odd choice. QUICK. Shut the DOOR!

17. yeah, but...
every news assignment desk editor in the U.S. leans heavily on Drudge, like a handrail. Even if you also go to buzzflash, you need to know what Drudge is covering. Because Drudge moves the media-needle. View your clicks there as a reality-check that no other link-based website can offer or match. Drudge is the undisputed dominant force in internet news now. Even the big media news sites like CNN pale next to the clever conservative gay guy from Florida.

20. You're kidding? DRUDGE moves the media needle? ROFLMAO!
that's HYSTERICAL.
He's a linker.

There's no original news on his site. You give pill boy pal too much credit.

6. .....
He breaks the big stories that righties love, like the Lewinsky scandal and, recently, the Reagan movie. He's not that bad, though, even on the radio he doesn't seem quite as arrogant as some conservative talking heads.

15. Are you fucking serious?
You're calling Drudge fair? AND Buzzflash immature... Uh if you can't see the hidden agenda in what Drudge is doing on his page and if you can't see Rove using Drudge as his puppet then you ain't been paying attention...Buzz is a liberal web page who has one thing in mind...Getting rid of Bush.... By the way...ya ever notice when Drudge shows up in the Socitey papers he's usally got some right winger like Ann Coulter with him... Read David Brocks book and you'll find out all you want about Drudge... Defending this turkey here on DU ain't gonna win you too many friends....

18. LOL could it be that he's an obvious tool for rove, lamebutt et al? It's
common knowledge that he's close pals with them, and there is a school of thought that says the fat assed troika there cooked up the story about lush's little pill addiction to steal away from the traitorgate story that busted loose in DC at precisely the same time.

Drudge has no integrity. he sells his fat ass off to the highest bidder, and that's always the traiterous fat asses in the GOP.
