- Right now talking about the DLC's 'move to the center'. Colmes of course agrees. He likes the idea of Republican-lite.
- None of these appeasers want to admit it: the party has been moving to the right for decades and now find themselves in the minority. Not just in the 'minority'...but in the worse shape they've been in for...well...decades.
- Colmes is the kind of nice guy the New Republican party loves to have around as a punching bag.

a liberal talk radio station is a good idea. Well, I guess he's got HIS syndicated show on Fox. Anything else would be redundant. :eyes:

6. "Liberal" radio and television... |
|
...is exactly what this country needs to provide a bit of balance.
- Colmes says he stands firmly on 'liberal principles'. I think he's making this up as he goes along.

He's a marionette doll, and the Republicans are pulling the strings.
Does anyone other than Fox viewers think he's really a liberal?

7. Yeah Alan,Dems don't need any Media when they have you... |
|
That idiot is just a lakey of FOX networks and is told what he can and can't say. Main thing is don't make Hannity look bad, which is damn easy to do if your allowed to speak for more than 20 seconds.
We need a few HUNDRED radio stations with Malloy,Rhodes,Guy James,Hightower etc....Screw you Colmes...

...and lack of conviction is exactly why he was chosen to be a sidekick on conservative Faux television. There are many more relevant voices in 'liberal' politics. It's too bad these other voices have been silenced by the same media that promotes him.
- One can't deny that he's a 'nice guy'...but his ineffectiveness is astounding. Hell...I'd rather watch PItt than this guy.

11. Well, goodness, Faux just hired Chris Wallace... |
|
And I was reading where Roger Ailes said that Wallace will deflect criticism about Faux being right wing...
Yeah, sure. And I'm Ben Affleck. :-)
Colmes could just be one of the wimpiest people on television, IMO.

12. He can't pay his mortgage if he bites the hand that feeds him... |
|
...which is pretty much the case with American media. They report what they're told to report. This is something too many Americans don't seem to understand. Radio and television 'personalities' are little more than talking heads for hire. They can only express opinions within the confines of their 'contract'.

|
How the hell else could anyone with half a freakin brain explain Alan Colmes?? He sold out long ago with the promise of TV exposure and a big paycheck. But everything has a catch and we all know what the "catch" is when it comes to Alan Colmes on FOX.
Fair and balanced my ass ALAN!!!!!

13. Anyone Read His Book? |
|
I sure haven't seen it on the NYT list.
This dude looks so henpecked and shell-shocked. He bought his fate, thus I wouldn't waste a Repugnican nickle on his book.
I agree with civility in debating an opponent who does the same...not the hacks and hate-mongers Faux represents.

- This has to be the more naive thing he has said this morning. Fair coverage in Iraq? He must not have heard about the Bush* admin. preventing the media from covering all the returning coffins from the ME.
- Don't think I can watch this anymore....

18. Well...I stayed around: Colmes last words were in defense of Rush... |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 08:37 AM by Q
...and that was the end of the segment. What a way to go out...in defense of the most offensive 'talk show' host in America.
- Colmes is a centrist..not a 'liberal'.
- Side note: Chuck Todd is on now. He's the 'editor in chief' of "Hotline'. I remember him from an old cable show called "America's Voice"...the most offensive, far-right conservative show ever presented on television. It's interesting that he has a spot on CSPAN every morning in which he supposedly gives neutral commentary.

Not surprising. Colmes sold his soul and now has to sleep with those rabid dogs.
So much for a liberal who can't stand up and relate to others. Hell, my son's forensic team could out-debate this loser. And he's gotta know he's considered a traitor to almost anyone who isn't a flying monkey Repugnican.
This guy's gotta feel like a POS...here the Hannity & O'Reilly books get tons of Murdoch push...even lawsuits. They go on Leno and every interview show they can get on. Colmes is lucky to get 7:30am on CSPAN and a signing at a Georgetown Borders...LOL. Serves the bastard right.
Watch, he'll next come out with a book claiming how "liberals" won't fight based on the sales of his new book.
Yes, I'd like to see excerpt here. I think we could have a lot of fun with this.
