why are women smarter politically than men?
For years there has been a gender gap with more women supporting Democrats than Republicans. Males tend to be more supportive of Republicans than Democrats. Why is this?

For example, A Quinnipiac Poll of New Jersey gives Bush a 53% approval rating in the state. Yet women are split 48-47 approval while men heavily approve of Bush by a twenty-point margin 58-38 percent. Nationally, it is much the same story.

I'm a male and can't stand Bush. Is it that so many of my fellow men really fall for that macho crap that Bush pulls--like "Bring 'em on" and tough talk like that?

6. More like a rooster, I'd say
He also walks kind of like George Jefferson. I wonder if that is an attempt to win the African American vote or if Rove told him to pretend to be Thomas Jefferson and he got confused

:P

11. Bang on!
In part because we're usually at the sharp end of the stick ourselves.

That's one of the reasons I give enormous credit to guys who are leftists, and really revile and abominate women who are not. In each case, they're 'going against type', as it were.

5. no there was a gender gap with Clinton too
more women voted for him than men. More women were supportive of him during Monica too--but I think the gap was less pronounced than it is now.

14. I was amazed how many men condemned Clinton...
...usually getting a BJ elicits high fives from other men.

7. Women are used to the BS "love guy" talk
from the guy who wants into their pants. They can tell the political "love guy" who wants to get into their wallets and their voting booths.

8. self-reliance
Men like to think they don't need anybody for anything. They are the hunters and being at the top of the heap fulfills that conquest thing. Getting help is a sign of weakness, failure. When they rely on the team, the team is getting to the top of the heap, so same thing. That's why they're so willing to overlook moral failings, getting to the top of the heap is more important. This is Republican thinking.

Women are social and think it is good to cooperate and rely on help. The goal is progress, not conquest. They also think bad morals will eventually harm the group and so are less tolerant of truly unethical behavior.

Just some generalized thoughts.

9. men should learn some of that cooperation from women
I agree, I think men are socialized to compete rather than cooperate. Competition and cooperation both have their place. If women really can cooperate better than men, then us men need to study how women do it and try to emulate it.

just my opinion of course.

10. Testosterone poisoning
Grossly generalizing, men enjoy and approve of violence far more than women, want simple answers and regard nuances as nuisances, and lack empathy. I'd gladly surrender my right to vote if all other males had to do the same; this country would be much better very soon.

12. not smarter
just like blacks are not smarter politically than whites. They're just have different interests. Maybe it's because women are less likely to be filthy rich, which is the republicans true constituency.
