Those words were uttered by my brother-in-law who is very apolitical after learning what happened in the House today.

He said that this administration has set a tone of arrogance and disrespect at home and abroad. And that the Republicans in Congress have disrespected Democrats since taking over power, railroading legislation, accusing dissenters of being anti-American and unpatriotic, and generally disrespecting Dems and the Congressional processes that have been in play since the founding of the nation. He is mad as hell and says that we should take to the streets before our democracy is snatched from beneath our very noses!

Wow, coming from him is really a shock! But this tells me the tide is turning!

The tide is turning. Apparently some Republicans haven't gotten the memo though that Bush is no longer untouchable and no longer a diety in the eyes of America. Some Conservatives still act as though it is a crime to critcizie Bush, and that the "American people" do not like to see their leader crticizied.

You do have to be smart to be President but not to be pResident puppet. It is telling because it is indicative of GOP logic. Being Smart is a prime requisite for being the Leader of the Free world and that they say it isn't is scary as hell.
