When Egos Collide.
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 12:19 PM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
Recently, we lost a few estimable members to The Vengeful Gods of The Tombstone. Very much to my chagrin, I might add. Having tried to wade my way through much of the thread in question(a server killer of a thread, if there ever was one...), I must say that one thing jumped out at me, and this is what I would like to say about that:

Sometimes, people, you gotta keep your eyes on the prize. Sometimes, it just ain't all about you. Sometimes, you really gotta leave your ego-needs on the back burner.

Look: I am dirt poor. I am One Grand Fuckee in Bush's Economy. In all my 51 years, I have never, ever seen it this bad, nor did I ever think it would get this bad. I know, from personal experience, that I am not alone. Anything but. The number of people, from whose hands The American Dream has been torn, are legion and growing.

If the re:puke:s are allowed to continue upon their blithe and merry way, with no opposition on the many fronts they have opened up, we, as a country, are going to be a two-class economic system. There is a simple name for a two-class system, too: Serfdom. With a delightful and refreshing splash of Facism, as things look right now.

In this mad rush to The New Dark Ages, it has gone beyond the tinfoil and the anecdotal, as regards what our esteemed opponents(at least some of them...) have in store for the electoral system. This information is the result of good, hard work by many, many people within the BBV orbit. No one person can take credit for the totality of it. Having said that, there certainly are people that deserve recognition.

Especially Bev. I would not be writing this if there was no Bev. There wouldn't be something to write about, without Bev.

People: I, Me, Scheisskopf, and a hella lot of people JUST LIKE ME need BBV to continue on and succeed. We do not have a snowball's chance in hell if it fails. America, as a democratic system, would be over. Dead. A malign corporation. We would ALL be fuckees, with bungholes you could drive an 18-wheeler into. Certainly not something our founding fathers had in mind, back when.

DU has been ground-zero for BBV, in real terms. We need the principals of BBV back on this board, because HERE is where the footsoldiers in this noble fight have been traditionally recruited, from amongst the members of this board. This simple fact must continue, for the health and vitality of BBV AND DU.

For all those deeply involved in BBV: You will get your recognition. But it is not about you. It is about all of us. Especially the least amongst us. The most vulnerable amongst us. There is a time and a place for one's ego, but this ain't it. Nope, definately ain't it.

Bev: Email the muckity-mucks of DU. Then, come back. I can say, with assuredness, that we need you back here.

Oh, and Thank you. Thank you so very much.

3. Thank you, I feel the same way. I miss Bev and the information she
shared with us.

She has had to deal with plenty of difficulties in the last few months without losing DU as a meeting place for friends.
