Stupid Lou Dobbs poll!
Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 06:27 PM by wyldwolf
Do you believe students should begin each school day reciting the pledge of allegiance without the phrase 'under God'?

I don't believe students should have to begin each school day reciting the pledge of allegiance at all

But a "no" vote will make it look like I think 'under God' should be it.

5. abortion terrible for democrats
The Protestant church members will vote in a bloc because of Abortion.

Democrats--Please go to this.

ABORTION SHOULD BE LEGAL--SAFE AND RARE--ONLY IN CASE OF RAPE-INCEST-MOTHER'S HEALTH.

THIS WOULD GET MANY CHURCH MEMBERS.

INDDISCRIMINATE ABORTION IS WRONG.

2. This whole debate is stupid
There are so many things that Bush and the Republicans are vulnerable on. Who gives a shit about the Pledge of Allegiance. They're only words.

The Republicans are hoping we fall for this debate. So that way they can get away from the real issues.

This is a non-issue for me.

My view, keep 'under God' in. It won't kill anybody.

7. actually it might
what do you think happens to students who either because of religious views or because they are not religious refuse to say under god particularly in schools that are controlled or at least highly influenced by religious right nuts.

3. It's all so ... catholic
Ironic that all these right winger-dinger holy roller evangelical type Christians (sic) want to keep the phrase in, when it was inserted in 1954 by the Knights of Columbus. I guess that means the right winger-dingers are following the dictates of the Pope, ha ha.

And, BTW, I was raised in the Catholic faith, so please don't read this as a slur on their religion.

the "under god" was put in during the height of the cold war
