MSNBC: Hungry families on the rise in the US
Edited on Sat Nov-01-03 06:34 AM by La_Serpiente
This past year, the number of families who couldn't afford food rose to 12 million people.

This is concerning me greatly. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. I have a feeling that the gap will get so huge, we could have a very large class of poor people. In South America, there is no middle class really. It is only rich and poor. The social ramifications of this will be huge and this only gets worse.

Hunger in the US rises

1. No one seems to care.
Bob Novak said on Crossfire last night to stop whining and suck it up.

2. Exactly.
And this administration is going to let more and more companies export jobs from America creating even more inequality and hunger...

3. I do not think any one cares.
When the 'poor farms' come back and you have to put your parents into them, and you see begging on the street every day someone may wake up. With the people govt. us behind glass it will be very hard. Congress needs to get the ave pay of an American and the Prez. should not get 400,000 a year. Specially this one that vacations all the time.

5. This sort of crap makes this country even more ripe
for fascism.

I've heard more than one person warn us to look for the LBN story that 'justifies' a Homeland Security (Homeland Security?!?) Code Red along with subsequent cancellation of 2004 elections.
