A question for Cuban-Americans
Do Cuban-Americans like the C.I.A.?

I was having a conversation with a Cuban-American friend and the thought crossed my mind due to comments that were made. He was talking about Fidel Castro and how a popular latin-american radio or t.v. host managed to get Fidel's private line and called him live. What ensued was hilarious as the two engaged in prophanities.

The topic went from jovial to serious when the subject of the C.I.A. came up. I'm not sure how it did, but it did. I mentioned that the C.I.A. was an odd bird because it has created some terrible public relations problems for the U.S. abroad because it's in the habit of doing nasty things like assasinating properly elected presidents. I was expecting my friend to agree with me, and he did, sort of. His eyes lit up and he said in hushed tones, "What most Americans don't understand is that the C.I.A. is not an American agency." In a halting voice I responded, "Yes, but the American public is paying for its existence through tax dollars." The conversation ended at that point, but I can't forget the look in his eyes and this ugly though crossed my mind: Do Cuban-Americans support the C.I.A. & the Republicans because somewhere in the back of their minds they hope that these agencies will get rid of Castro?

3. i mean, think about it
what other reason colud the bigoted racist bush family suck up to the brown people they hate so much. Voting isint the reason cause they have ruled out every cuban for voteing, and they could, if they wanted to, crack down on the illegals and deport them.

4. The Bush Crime Family..
..and the Cuban Mafiosa are very chummy. Jeb Bush gave the grandson of that pimp Batista an appointment to the Florida Supreme Court. Amazing!

5. Find out what they know about the CIA.
It's hard to believe that there's something about the CIA that we don't know about or suspect, but it never occurred to me that the CIA would answer to another master. Why then, do we keep funding it if it's true?

11. While there are some rabid anti-Castro posters in DU
I don't think any of them are Miami gusanos who give "rabid" a bad name.

6. An interesting anecdote
A friend in S. Florida has been registering voters for a progressive organization. He has run into many Cubans, and a lot of the young ones are registering as Democrats. The ones he registered from Hileah were all Democratic.

7. I have been trying to tell you that for a while, Carlos
On many of the DU "Cuba threads" you've visited for a drive-by, I've tried to point out to you that very fact.

Also, most Cuban-Americans do not support the sanctions or embargo on Cuba.
